Why use fresh water when you already have some well conditioned water to hand bacteria or not? 50;50 IMO. Also the substrate contains loads of bacteria and nutrients especially if adding plants, which I assume you are as its for shrimps.

I have been using co2 for a couple of years but stopped about six months ago as I wasn't impressed with the results and getting the balance and circulation right in a large aquarium isn't easy. I know longer use co2 and occasionally dose dry ferts. The plants I have are easy to keep tho.

Lead is ok if your not injecting co2.. It oxidisers under water forming a film over the lead, don't get to much in there tho. Looks better already, the plants on the front right and left are non aquatic tho, so will rot and die. I would also say put more substrate in there at least 2 - 3 inch's...

Clowns can grow to 18" in the wild so long term you will have to re house it. I'd have at least 5 s.a.e. And yes I have 8.

The s.a.e. will be ok with your fish. The clown will eat your snails. And clowns should be in a shoal of at least 6. Your tanks isn't big enough for clown loach.
