Hello!

Could anyone recommend me a plant substrate that doesn't require a topping? I know about colombo flora base but I was wondering about others.

Also, does anyone know of any good CO2 kits? My tank is 22L. I'm not up for any DIY. :p
Just looking at the fluval mini kit but I imagine that's probably quite expensive.

Thanks! :)

Flora base is probably one of the best reasonably priced ones.... but, you have ones like ecco complete and akadma which are superb for there capacity to hold excess ferts but out of the bag there next to useless (so to speak). You also have ADA substrates to but i just cant bring my self to spend that sort of money for something similar i can get for a quarter of the price lol.

As to the co2 kits, DIY would be a good option, easy to do but can be quite unstable... in 22 litres i would worry about gassing fish/shrimp with it though rather than stability lol.

The 88g fluval kit would work well but again a bit over priced for what it is but they do come up quite cheap second hand.

Alright thanks for that. Probably going to go with Flora Base and a fluval kit then :)
