    Can I still add a ropefish/african butterflyfish

Please dont take this the wrong way, but 800LPH means that under optimal conditions the pump turns over 800 LPH of water and nothing else. Let's talk ornaments

I use live plants and sometimes wood as ornaments, I am in the process of making floating logs for my bettas out of real wood, Plastic has no business in an aquarium because it breaks down over time and starts releasing chemicals.

    5 Gallon Shrimp Tank

The 5 gallon is fine but be warned your tank should not only be cycled but it should be mature, that means it should be up and running for at least 2 months before adding shrimp. Shrimp dont like big water changes so your tank needs to be stable with ammonia and nitrite at zero and nitrate...

    Internal parasites?

I would be very careful using Mela fix or the watered down version Betta Fix as it contains Tea Tree Oil and that can damage the Labyrinth organs,. Lots of clean treated water ( and maybe a little aquarium salt ) is just as effective.
