This is the biggest problem with trying to identify the "spotted" cories. There are so many of them, if you dont know where they were caught or bred, its very hard, if not impossible, to truly identify them. Nice fish :good:

I agree. If you move the filter and a portion of the existing water, they should be fine. I have set-up a lot of tanks using filters I had running in mature tanks. Also, moving plants, driftwood, substrate, etc. from existing tanks helps a lot. Good Luck :good:

Yep, and once they start spawning they usually wont stop. Ive had a spawn of close to 150 eggs before. Having the leaf litter at the bottom of the pond is also good for the fry. Looks like you are off to a great start! :good:

Definately looks like a "Pink" danio or "glofish" like everyone has said. They come in a lot of different colors. Im not sure if someone said this, but it seems like I read somewhere they were made to test water supplies or something like that. PetsMart sells them too.

I just bought a nice group of these fish. I should receive them in the next couple of days. Anything special I need to know about them?? Lateral Line, what are your opinions on this fish?

Well, I feed mine all kinds of food ranging from Earthworm sticks, flake food, catfish pellots, algae wafers, and different kinds of pellot foods I have found over the years. I use to feed them live blackworms, which all fish love, but havent lately. I get most of the fish food from the LFS...

I see this question a lot. If you look at the picture below, you can see the difference in a B. splendens and a Bronze C. Aeneus (The bigger ones are the B. splendens). Hope this helps.

I agree. Ive got 6 C. sterbai who are approaching the 2.5-3" mark. I cant remember who I got them from :rolleyes:

You say "outside pond." Where are you from? Just asking because temperature plays a big deal for cories. The 2 species you have are not hard to spawn. The first cory I ever had spawn for me was a Bronze C. Aeneus...

Hey Mike, Its been a while. I wouldnt worry with the identity. You have a fish I have been after for a long time, but I have never been able to get for one reason or another. Get as many as you can, feed them the right foods and they should spawn for you. Good luck Jason

Keep in mind, Gouramis are also territorial. So a big tank is needed to keep a lot of them, especially with a RTBS. Also, Red Tailed Black Sharks, when healthy will usually be a dark black color and the red on the tail will be very noticeable. I have one in a 55 gallon Ive had for about 2...

C. sterbai are very social. I have a group of over 24 and they are together all the time. They also are spawning for me regularly. Im guessing the Albinos and Bronze you have are both these same species (C. aeneus). If the albinos are C. aeneus, they are the same, they just look different...

Sorry, I just noticed this post. That is a Sera O-Nip tab. You just stick it to the glass. I have found most fish like it, especially the cories. I have also learned some of my fish wont eat it.

Thanks :good: Yeah, that tank is pretty much for the C. sterbai. I have some other top level swimming fish to make them feel more comfortable. I have around 16 regular C. sterbai and 4 albinos.

I have 3 apple snails that are laying clutches of eggs every 4-5 days. I am having no luck in getting the eggs to hatch. Any suggestions on the best way to achieve this? They have just layed 2 clutches tonight. Thanks for the help in advance.

Its been a while since I have posted, but I decided to post some pictures. I took these today after I dropped and algae wafer into the tank. They all went crazy over it! You can also see some Pangio kuhlii and C. pygmaeus enjoying it too :D Thanks for looking 8-)

That is what I was going to say. Even C. aeneus look very different at that age, until they start developing their skin color.

The only one I see without a "mask" is the one in the last 5 or so pictures.
