I just purchased some corys, which are the beginning of a school of them for a home in my 37 gallon tank. The LFS has such limited variety, and the guy working there told me they were Pandas...I looked at him and said, okay. I knew not to ask him any more questions after that. I believe they're a Bronze cory, but I could be mistaken, as I am rather new to fish keeping. Any information would be great. I read that they grow up to two inches or so, is that correct?

You're welcome. How many bronze did you buy? They like to be in a school of about 6 of the same type so people say. However I've 2 bronze, 2 albino, 2 peppered and 2 julii and they all school together! I've bought 4 panda this week and they stick together like glue and seem to view the others with disdain and just keep to their own group. They're always huddled together when still!!

just a quick hint too.... corydoras LOVE sand........

I have two right now. They are going in a 37 gallon planted tank with sand, and I'll be buying four more : ) I just wanted to see how they interacted with their destined tank mates, before purchasing them and just dumping them in. They are a bit skittish so far. Hope they calm down some.

Hi SwordtailLover :)

Bronze corys are C. aeneus. They are also available in an albino variation. They are probably the most popular of all corys. As with any corys, the more the merrier.

Hi crazychris :)

Your pandas are most likely scared and stressed. They are delicate little fish and do not always mix well in a cory community. I tried and tried, but never had success with them until I set them up in a tank by themselves. Now I've been keeping them for years and they have been thriving. You might want to try doing that too.

There are several generations of C. pandas in that picture.

You've inspired me, got me some C. aeneus too! Now, the fun begins because I have to wait until they color up, take a few photos, and then post to find out what variety they are. Must know the variety.
