just to let you know (if your interested that is) i have done some changing around with my fish tanks and now keep in my 25l tank with my fighter. 1 flying fox, 1 african dwarf frog, and 10 harlequin rasboras. if i do say so myslef stocking the tank like this looks freakin awsome. :D

i hate to say it but i think ill agree with tgo, that rock will displace a lot of your water. as nice as it is i would remove the rock and just get a couple of plants instead. any idea what your going to put in there yet?

i keep seeing them in maiden head aquatics, amongst other species of crabs. usually if you ask your lfs or some where like maiden heads they will order them in for you

i totally agree amonia and nitrate are toxic to fish and so is nitrate but but nitrate is not nearly as bad. but your tank will not begin to cycle untill you add fish cus without them there is no amonia to feed nitrite, so no nitrites to feed nitrates. the ammonia needs to be introduced first...

no they arent, some people suggest adding slight salt but among the many stores that sell fish where i live about 4-5 keep red clawed crabs among other species and none have them in brackish water.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT PUT IT IN YOUR POND, that is a urigamus monixidus, it the larvea of an indonesian water scorpion and will grow to 3 ft long. as a larvea it will be capable of killing the hardiest of pond fish let alone your aquarium fish. im surprised it hasnt killed of your entire aquarium...

not an expert but i would deffinately say the rise in nitrite is due to over feeding. i feed my fish a pinch of food every 2 days. it should say on the pot somethinglike remove what is not eaten in 2 minuites. if you vaccume all the food out and keep up the water changes this should be fine...

what ive noticed about keeping fish is you cant take every ones advice so sometimes do what you think and see how you get on
