I have a mating pair of convicts about 2.5 and 3",male being the bigger one but with my pair they share a tank with a big male flowerhorn and female red devil.The convicts never challenge him as he is a "loose cannon" so to speak and he constantly moves ornaments and rocks to try and get them...

If I didn't see it myself I would not of believed it.My local lfs has one of many 120 gal tanks,in one particular one there was a large red devil,and a large oscar up in the top corner of the front of the tank tight together.Looked in the centre of the tank,and there was a 4" female convict and...

I was just wondering because they are difficult to find in many places,including here in the toronto area.

My now 7 are fine,but the more the better.What part of the country are you from?I would like to add at least another 3.

Great choice,very active fish.Had eight for over two years.Last week found one dead and in half on the bottom.I think my flowerhorn probably got it as he chases them and gets very close every time. 4 might be ok for a week but you'll have to watch as they constantly chase each other around and...

Sweetest/nasty's I can tell you.But talk about personality, can not be beat Imo.(flowerhorn}

between my piranhas,red devils,synspilum,convicts,my male flowerhorn continually tries to bite me during cleaning.He is big and very protective of his female red devil and tank.I just use the syphon tube(vaccum tube)to keep him away.Quite funny to see.

confish water weighs 10lbs per gallon,so your tank would be like two large 315lbs men standing side by side[with about another50lbs or so in their hands]meaning gravel,filter,heater and other accessories.You should not have to worry.

I don't know about weight size,but if you clean the tank often I think you'll be fine.Can't wait for the pictures .

jonny dw,you and your girlfriend look for images of a zz flowerhorn.If your not a fan of the head hump[kok]You'll find the zz is a really nice looking fish,closely resembling it's half bloodline the trimac.It doesn't have the huge kok.I think you may like it

In that case give it a shot.I thought a couple of those fish grew a lot bigger.If there is a problem down the road you can then deal with it.Go for it :good: let us know how it works out.You won't regret getting the exodons.

confish ,maybe i'm missing something,if it's a 55us gallon tank I believe you would be way over your limit.If the 240 in your reply is gallons I'd say your ok :good:

Can't get any better dither fish than a half dozen or more exodons.They almost seem to break up any little bit of fighting.Added bonus is they are rely fast and never lost any with piranhas,red devils,flowerhorns,fireheads etc.Just another option.

You'll soon have to put them in another tank.I'm still waiting for my two to get going lol! That seems like quite a few from those two.Good luck.

I guess any action on any post is allright ,but I'm sure any answer now would of been answered within the last year.

If the tank was clean when you put him in ,give him the best part of a week as mentioned before you change again.He needs to get familiar with his new home

Don't worry,he/she will come around.I have three at different sizes and even the smallest one at 3"can be really nasty.I've found water temp at 80degrees and some dither fish really start to bring out there personality and aggressiveness.Worked well for me.

I have a beta with two now large angels.They have been together for over a year now,no problems at all.They also share the tank with a golden puffer[cool],and a chinese algae eater,also a few guppies. :good:

You could add a male zz flowerhorn.Lots of attitude ,friendly to his owner most times,but you would not be able to add another fish later.My largest male[7"]has temper tantrums every now and then.throwing stones ,knocking over ornaments,shaking,it is quite funny.When it's dinner time he will eat...

How about 6 plus exodons?They will not be afraid of the gt,but will put him in his place if needed.Little pricey but add continuous movement in tank,plus not hard on the eyes either :good:

I'm not sure where you live,but in my area you can take any fish back[big al's]and they will give you about one third of the retail price of the fish if it is in good condition.Better than nothing if the fish does not work out.

Mine are 12" long and even though they are calm [all the time]when I see there teeth when cleaning I make sure we all know what or where I'm going so either one of us don't get startled.

Yes,my piranhas are so lame,had them for 4 years,believe it or not it is a very quiet tank.The more I learn over the years I believe the exodons actually keep the tank calm.Never any casualties.

Right now they are in a 75 with 2 piranhas,2 red devils,6 exodons.there is a lot of structure,drift wood,scull,shells,cave,etc.I'm using a emperor 400 filter, bubbler,900 maxi-jet powerhead.I do realize as they get larger,tank size will have to be reviewed.They seem to be having fun swimming...

Just picked up two 1.5" fireheads.Anyone have any experience with these?They look like they will be very colorful and big,with a bit of attitude.Any help would be appreciated

I have some colorful platy's,golden puffer,chinese algea eater.You could use more I'm sure,but it is colorful and peaceful.Forgot also two black skirts.

This is a zz.It will not get that huge head your seeing with the kamfa.This is a 6" male,and about 6 mths old
