The temp would def be too high for the BGK, or too low for the Discus, wouldn't be fair for one of the fish no matter what you did. I think it's a bad idea.

So my question is easy looking but could be very complex, hence why I am asking, and hoping it to be just a silly fear. How would crawfish do in a tank that has a couple gouramis? Namely, gold and opaline. Advice, comments? I have not bought the crawfish nor do I know where to at the moment.

Oh wow, those look wonderful! Question, so far I've only been able to feed them flake (and they have absolutely no problem eating it) but what did you feed yours? Their coloration is magnificent! Mine are still nice colored but it's not as bold and pronounced like the ones in your pictures.

So I was wondering, since I never actually looked into this before, but how does one tell the sex of an Oscar fish? I mean for all I know "Frank" could actually be "Frankcisca" or something :lol: Anyone able to determine the sex from that picture or is there a way I could tell?

Yeah I took the sails off pretty quickly... I didn't like them too much :crazy: There was another ship in my LFS that was more expensive but didn't have sails, so I opted for that one and took them off myself :lol:

To be on the safe side, unless instructed to remove said media, don't do it. There really isn't any harm as far as I'm concerned just leaving it in the bag. Assuming of course I'm thinking of the same thing you are :blink:

The couple times I ever kept a kissing gourami the little snot would bully around my other fish a lot. Nice fish with the right tankmates, personally I am not a fan of them because of personal experience with what was possibly just two "bad eggs" in the bunch.

Update: I tested the water. I have found my problem. I have some ammonia and my PH is, much to my surprise, much too low. Nitrate and nitrite levels are perfect, which is slightly odd in my opinion. I bought an ammonia remover to put in the filter. Just added a small portion of some hard water...
