Breeding goldfish are really hard. First of all it is hard to tell the sexes between the 2, and most goldfish dont even spawn there eggs till they are full grown and are either in a pond or 3-4" long. Not sure that yours look like but there is some info about that. HTH

If you saw them when the put them in the bag was there the same as you though there was for sure. Doubt any babies because there would be a lot more than 1 more but I would stick with loosing your mind.

They want or say to turn off the filter. Dont really think thats a bad idea as long as you still have some aggitation of the water to help the oxygen. But what I usually do is turn the filter to the lowest setting and that is just as good.

It still just depends. All that I can say is a lot less time than a regular cycle which can easily take to a month. Buy a test kit and see how fast it progresses for sure.

Is it a straight tank with no aeration? If it isnt then i would say 20% daily or every 2 days.

If it is a completely new tank I would buy a kit that would be able to show you the parameters so then you know when it is fully cycled. Once you think its cycled, I would wait another couple of days to make sure nothing slips. Also tank water doesnt really add anything good into you aquarium...

IMO there arent to many fish that can fit into a 3 gal. most need more than one and if you got one it would probably be lonly.

Not to sure about the lettuce, only feed my bettas flakes, bloodworms, and brineshrimp. It is also hard to tell there age. usually the older they are the darker and the fins are more dark and look heavier.

With a 3 gal. I wouldnt put any tank mates in. It is just good enough for the betta to have enough space to swim and I dont believe that he needs someone taking it. Plants would help him feel more at home.
