It does effect fish with Ich if the aquarium lights off. I just cured my oscars of Ich. Using higher temps, salt, and collodial silver I was able to deter any further outbreak, and I kept the light off. Ich was gone in three days!! :D <~Has happy oscars now.

So far so good, the ich has not gotten any worse as far as I can see and the Oscars are still acting normally and the tinfoils still don't have it. I guess the collodial silver tainted cichlid staple is working. :D

Red algea is a pain, but also the easiest to wipe off the tank. :nod: But I found that if the tank is too warm and the water isn't cirrculated enough, that red algea may occur. Is your tank near a heat source other than the heater? How warm is your water?

I have seen heaters over-heat themselves. They will just stay on until the water get really hot...You know? If you turn those nobs too much they tend to short out the filament or the heater coil either causing it to turn off or stay on. :/ :byebye:
