No, Don't ever put the fish store water in your tank!!!!!! You can float then to get them acclimated to the temp. but you want to net them out and put them in your tank that way.

I agree. I read and ask and read and ask before I make any decisions. Usually if you put together what you learn, you can weed out the garbage and be on the right track! Alacazam! :lol:

I believe that technically it would work, but I never believe any magic numbers when it comes to cycling. The plants will produce waste (amonia) as leaves die and what not. Eventually the amonia eating bateria will find it's way to your tank, and so on and so on. You would still have to stock...

He is pretty small, weighs about 60lbs. I don't know what he's mixed with. When I got him, he was the only black one. One had pit bull coloring, and one looked like a rott. Supposedly he is a rott/lab mix, but I don't really believe that.... And the guy in the rabbit costume was really big...

I think that you need to get a couple more. They are a pretty shy fish in general I think, but adding more would make them feel more comfortable, and it would provide a more natural environment.

Maybe you should take them out when the fry start to swim. At that point, the parents probably aren't necessary. I don't know if they will eat their babies, but they may..... You just need to use your best judgement, and if daddy-o sucks up one of those kids and forgets to spit it out :o ...

You may be fine. My guppies and platties have babies in my tank all the time! None ever get eaten....although I wouldn't mind it too much since I'll be out of room once the babies' babies have babies..... It's a 10 gallon with 2 guppies, 2 platties, 1 balloon belly molly, god only knows how...
