Vacation Mishap...

So, I went on vacation for a week and my mom was keeping an eye on the fish. I got home and couldn't find my gold gourami. Finally I found her pinned between a plastic rock and the side of the tank. I have no idea how long she'd been there, but her fin on her side is really torn up, and she lost a lot of scales on her head and side. Does anyone recommed anything to help her heal? Also, will the "meat" on her fin come back?

my female betta got ripped up, scales missing... i just added some salt and a little bit of fungus eliminator as it started to get white and cottony, and within 2 days she was fine...

not sure about gouramis and salt, but salt will help if gouramis can handle it.. melafix i hear is good for open wounds also

if you don't have any catfish or loaches, use salt to help the wound

Love that melafix for things like this. It doesn't seem like adding a poison, just like herbal tea for fishies...

Oh, she's doing great! Fiesty as ever! Where her scales were gone is coming back black like her markings. I figured it was probably like a scar....

Did you use anything to help her along or did "time heal all wounds"?

Oh, I took the cories out and added quite a lot of salt (whatever the carton said for use with other treatment...can't remember) and used the melafix. She is looking great!!!!
