    looks well :hyper: imo you should change those t5 nature tubes to daylight tubes.. believe me it would make a big difference! your water would look alot clearer without the yellow tinge the nature tubes give out.. that was the first step i took when i got my rio 300!

    im not sure if it would work but how about trying to make a 'freshwater refugium' in the filter compartment, add a couple of moss balls and a submersible light. food for thought thats all :lol:

    sell the internal on ebay, ive seen them go for about £55-60 on ebay new! that would buy you a fluval 205 new or a used 305/405? or if your an eheim person a 2213?

    being from a lake they won't like too much flow, although saying that a bit of flow wouldnt do too much harm.. just prevent dead spots from forming around the tank i guess. whats the perimeters of the tap water where you are?

    i dont have one of these filters, ive seen people elsewhere cutting some of the impeller blades off but not with this kind of filter.. may be worth looking into.

    a pair or trio (1m 2f) should do well in a 10 gallon tank.. ocellatus are very agressive and need a fair bit of territory compared to multis..
