My Mum died 5 weeks ago, I don’t think my youngest 2 grandchildren fully understand ‘death’ and the finality of it…but they are certainly grieving. You grieve the loss of someone/something you love not death itself.

Is there a reason you are asking..? Is this your water parameters…? I’m Googling and other than the standard, “most fish will adapt if drip acclimatised…” I can’t see anything being recommended for over Ph8.

Fish don’t need to be fed every day, they can go several days without food. Perhaps they’ve just ‘had enough’..? Maybe you could stop feeding for two days and see if they feed better after that..?

I don’t buy additives, my water is very hard, so I mix it 50/50 with pure RO water. This suits my Betta very well.

How much water do you need..? I buy RO water, 10ltrs mixed 50/50 with my tap water costs about £3 a week and saves me buying and installing the kit and the cost of wasting so much water to produce the amount of RO that I need. (I’m on a water meter).

What, in numbers, is your ammonia level..? Can I clarify what Dr Tim’s product you are adding…ammonia..? you need to do a large water change immediately to get the ammonia levels down to zero - anything higher will kill the fish.

Hello Susie and welcome 🙂 If you post some photos of your fish, someone on here will be able to identify them for you. Can you clarify ‘tank cleaners’? Are you after shrimps and things, or cleaning equipment and products..?

The cycling process takes a lot longer than one week, usually about 6 or 7 weeks, so I would be patient and follow the instructions that @Essjay gave you. I don’t fully understand the Ph stuff…but I’d be cautious of adding other stuff while going through the cycle.

The minute you buy one tank, and start filling it you either want something bigger or more (MTS - multiple tank syndrome) 🙂 @Essjay has had Betta with shrimp with mixed success.
