    Wierd Golden Hue on Danios

Sorry to hear of your RTBS, Pilot :( I just noticed the same thing with my danios. For the past couple of days, 2 of my zebra danios have become a vivid gold/orange color. I have 6 zebra danios, and these are the only 2 it has happened to. The color has become so intense that they look like a...

    Tiger Barbs

Thanks! That helps a lot. I won't be doing this tank set up any time soon. I don't have room for another tank, nor the money. Someday though, probably years from now, I shall have my fabulous fish room, and in it shall dwell the tiger barbs :shifty:

    Tiger Barbs

I read that one of the members on here has a tank with just a bunch of tiger barbs in it. I cannot remember their name at the moment (I'm sorry!) :*) I think that idea would be very kool though. I was wondering what size tank would be good for a school of around... 13?

Sorry about that. I meant years. Common plecos live around 25 years.

    got a pleco

A common pleco will reach anywhere between 13-18 inches regardless of tank size. I have heard of tank size stunting fish growth, but obviously that is very unhealthy, and it would have to be already too big for the tank before it started stunting. I would recommend at least a 75 gallon if you...

    HELP!! FISH TANK JUST BROKE!!!!!!

I am so afraid of that happening to my tank :X I really have no reason to be worried, but that thought is always in the back of my head. Elizabeth, I'm glad Perfecto was easy to negotiate with, but are you sure you want another tank from them? Apparently their line of tanks are not the best...

    Large cories

I was at the pet store the other day checking out the fish. I have read about large cories on here before, but had never seen one. I passed a tank that had albino cories in it. All of them except one were a little over half an inch long. Then there was one that was 4 inches long! It might have...

    Slow SD death

I just got home from work about 5 minutes ago and discovered that my SD is floating :( He isn't dead (yet), his belly is right on the water line and he is just floating around like that. His breathing is getting slower and his dorsal fin is clamped (that's the only fin like that). Both the...

Secret affair between a bristlenose and a khuli

I believe my bristlenose and one of my khuli loaches are in love. The khuli will wedge itself between the pleco and the glass and happily sit there. Very odd, my fish.

My khuli Loaches pics...... and some advice!

What a heartless ***** that lady is. Grrr :< Anyway, my khuli loaches LOVE algae disks, and hate blood worms. It all depends on the individual fish. Every fish in my tank is a lover of algae disks. And yes, you should post in the fish index. It's the very bottom forum where a person can post...

    my mystery plecos

It's true that females don't have bristles. I believe they only get various bumps on their nose. BTW, how are their noses shaped? Are they like a normal pleco, rounded and smooth, or do they sort of have a ridge down the center? If they have the ridges, then they're bristlenoses.

    Bristlenose bristles

I just got my first bristlenose today and I noticed his bristles are rubbery. Are they supposed to be like that? I always imagined they would be hard. When I first noticed, I thought he was broke :*)

Why are Tetras So Hard to Catch?

They're small so they're able to zip around unlike a large pleco or something. Actually my neons were always MUCH easier to catch than my platies.

    Disappearing fish

OK, this is weird. I used to have 2 gold gourami a week ago. I went away to Illinois for a week, and when I returned I only had one gold gourami. My mother looked after my tank while I was gone, so I asked her if maybe it died and she removed it. She said no. There is no way it could have been...

    Special Care for Catfish?

Hello there :D Some types of catfish have barbles way too delicate for regular nets, as you know. You could use a very fine, soft net for them, but you'll still have to be careful. Certain cats have short barbles (plecos, cories, etc) that are OK to catch with a regular fish net. Any...

    Need some names of catfish's

I really can't think of any catfish who like light very much. Most, if not all, species usually hang out on river bottoms and caves where there is the least sunlight. Perhaps someone else knows of one who is more tolerant. Good luck!

    I have a question

Wow, an inch per month! I don't have any experience with black sharks, and actually didn't know about them until today when I saw a few at the LFS. I still say they are OK for a 180G.

    I have a question

No, iridescent sharks need at least 300 gallons. Is this the black shark you were talking about? http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...=21&pCatId=1083 It says they reach 2 feet and must have at least 70 gallons, but I do not agree with that. IMHO if they do get that big, they should...
