Good point. But if the water can get in surely it can get out! so perhaps it will naturaly move with the tank currents because of the work your filters are doing. Quint

What measurements does you 125 gal tank have and what is it supported on?

How about designing a non leak tap that could be at the base of a tank for draining purposes...... or has this been done ?

Why do you replace the filter? if it is a sponge it should last years. If you find you are having to clean it to often you could be overstocked or over feeding!!!!!

Panchax are definately Killi fish. good buy for all that gear. :nod:

What they mean, is that with normal fluorescent tubes 50% of the light output is directed upwards, simply because the tube is cylindrical. with a reflector , the upward light is reflected down, in theory this doubles the light output by 100%. hope this helps :D

Ah well you know best. I only have 30 yrs experience in fishkeeping and also in the building trade. I would not put a lovely tank like that on those poxy feet . you know best though !!!!!!!!!!

Nice tank but darts falling on top of the hood will not be too good for the fish nerves :S

When I kept fish back in the seventies we used something called MALACHITE GREEN as a general cure all. If you got the dose correct it worked quite well. Does it still get used ? or indeed has anybody out there heard of it ?

Just what i needed thanks, i have got loads of glass all with bevelled edges. i was lucky cos i got the glass from an old shop that was shutting down. they used it for shelving and gave it to me for free. should be able to put it to good use now :cool:

Good idea on the LED's i think they may be cheaper at the computer geek shop.

Advice off BigC is all good but make sure you protect yourself with anRCCB on the heater supply. Good luck.
