As a comparison, How much on average is next day del in the USA? A rough guide here in the UK is about £7 by a courier. Can be more or less of course.

I think this one of the beauties of the mainland UK. Because we are so much smaller, Next day del is easy. I think it's probably not as guarenteable in the USA. But not impossible of course.

Being a fish person and someone who dabbles with aircom I have seen this question before. I think the main reason for not using the condensate water is because it drips from the evaporator and can pick up any airborn contaminates. This is not a proven theory (that I know of) and think people...

I use it in my freshwater tank purely because the water where I am is very hard and has a lot of nitrate in it. The fish I keep are also mainly soft acidic fish so I control how my water is rather than fighting a loosing battle trying to lower hardness and pH levels.

Could you not put some information up on a wall and maybe get the kids involved? I am sure they would be fascinated.

I have 2 of these and never even gave a thought about using them in a power cut, Good tip there.

Thanks for the reply BrianH. I have looked at some of the other posts which are very useful. It also seems I may be getting a good flow rate after all, I think I was suffering from watching the tank fill syndrome :D I left it over night and what a difference its made. Cheers.

Hi Everyone My first de-lurking post. What is the best substrate to use when planting out a tank?. I need an inert substrate as I will be having soft acidic water and do not want anything leeching into it. How long roughly would it be best to wait to start planting?, This is a new setup. Cheers all.
