Urg I Got Mouth Full Of Fish Water When Using Gravel Vac

great link for tb i have read it through yes so much points to whats happening in both my tanks ,

does this mean i have to do a major culling ? i dont no if i could .. and im unsure which fish i could save if any ,

is it pointless making new quarantine tank at present as need to treat everything in both tanks...? i do have a empty spare tank no heater,filter or

lights but wonder whether to put fish in it and strip down both tanks or wait as surely filter,heater is contaminated and buying and starting a new filter would lead to a uncycled tank

probs ,also some fish have some things that others do or dont and tricky to see which fish are worse or savable.

im heartbroken over my little guys.. until all this i was considering purchasing a bigger tank , now on hold till this is sorted ,
 
Not looking good.
I would phone a vet and get some antibiotics. It will wipe the benefical bacteria out in the filter but it wants wiping out.
Cull all the fish that are showing the symtoms and the antibiotic might save the ones that look ok.
 
thanks i no its not what i want to hear but i can see it makes sense and gives the others a fighting chance, guess the 2 tanks are gonna have to be done .

can you please answer this so i no im doing it right

1) if the bacteria is wiped off both filters and i remove worst/affected fish . will i be restarting a cycle in process and could the remaining fish (if they have tb ) re-infect the beneficial bacteria on the filters as they start up .

2) do i need to throw away the filter sponge and replace with new ones ? (not carbon as already removed)

3) the remaining fish from both tanks that arent culled, should they be put together into one tank ?

4) once got antibiotics from vet ,how often will i need to do water changes if tanks has to re-cycle with the fish in .

soz so many questions . thanks xx
 
You could be using the antibiotics for a while.
Once the course of antibiotics is over the filter should be fine as it should of killed the bacteria.
The fish that have tb keep them seperated or the process will just start all over gain.
Get you some med info.

what they class as urgent is early may so seems ive got a wait on my hands ..thanks for asking xx

on the upside my hearing has started to come back ,but still run down ..
 
That's good then.
You do have to wait a while to see specialists.
 
another few losses late last night

done the garlic thing ,removed the sea shell,added the melafix,

was looking for a missing shrimp yesterday checked tank and found 2 dead fish the oto had totally lost all its colour ,you could seethrough it.neon looked fine just upside down and dead .

not having much luck at anything even trying to resize pics so can add them on here .

will keep on trying .xx

Have you contacted a vet for antibiotics.
 
spoke to receptionist at vet 30 miles away they said i can go 2moro and get me meds as the vets that are nearby charge just to ask for the meds.

When do you redose the parasite med.
Yes vets will make a charge for consultant fee as well as the antibiotics. if they perscribe them.
I would mention that you have a weak immune system as that might help getting a percription.
