Oh, and some more good news my mum and dad have finally decided to invest in a new camera, prob in the next month or so, so hopefully I will be able to get better pictures - I tried taking a photo of the Aiptasia but it just wouldnt show up in the photos. So, what do you all think?

YF

Right - if the mushroom is being ate, its a starfish. So im going to start removing all starfish including asterinas, im just wondering do these need circulation and warm water? As im wondering if I could keep them in a tub until my dad gets his sump. And I was wondering if it was coraline algea - im happy it is as I love coraline. And tina, Do you know what post it is on your journal?

YF

Could be tina, but I saw the starfish on the mushroom and saw it moved to the next bit leaving that mush of the mushroom behind. Its all like stringy so im guessing its being eaten. So can they survive how I suggested?

YF

Sorry YF was too busy clicking

No they will not surive like that, would need circulation and light.

Seffie did not have any trouble with the asterinas or brittlestars.

I would be seriously suspecting that crab, mine killed a rock full of Rhodactis mushrooms.

Tina, I saw the starfish on the mushroom exactually where it was, and just as it moved I saw what remained. Also, remember I have about 11kg of rock from a different guy. I just think its weird how the mushroom is fine, then I see a starfish on it, and he moved to another part of the mushroom and left this behind. I think I will remove the crab and the starfish. Will the mushroom survive tina?

YF

Might but might not. It looks as if the mushroom is forming stringy bits, this is not a good sign, mine did that before I lost them.

You do at least have another couple the same as that one that seems to be unaffected.

It is certainly a good idea to remove anything you supsect of coral predation.

Ok I will do. I have also noticed alot of new red corals, there like xenia but without the body, just the heads.

YF

Ok, the joes juice has arrived and I have spotted the starfish on the mushroom again, so tommorow im going to remove tons of starfish, get rid of all aiptasia, and hunt the crab. On the Joes Juice it says I need RO water to mix it with, but I have no RO water, so what should I do?

YF

You only need to mix it with RO water if it has become too thick and gloopy after being open a while.

As this is the first time you are using it, you can use it straight from the bottle.

Ah fair enough, I will be shooting the aiptasia tommorow then, going to have a sort out with the tank. What should I do the the starfish? I could bag them up with a little bit of water and post them if someone covered the p&p charge, would be about 3-4 different kinds of starfish.

YF

Seriously seffie, its looking worse and worse day by day its definatly being eaten by that starfish. Also, I like coraline so dont want them all eating it up lol. Is it gobys or blennys that have a hole that they stay in if you know what I mean?
