Would This Work Out Okay?

Okay so we got the tank stand painted today and got 2 coats of paint on, we will have to pick up some more cans of spray paint to do a 3rd coat. My dad also put some stuff on where the tank cracked and we will have to paint the tank trim again (ahh more cleaning! ). We will also have to paint the light strip box. Then time to start cycling the tank! This project is really coming along!

cool :good:
so how long till its filled up you think?how long have your filters been running on a tank at your lfs?

My filters have been running on a tank at the lfs since Decemer 26th, so that is about 2 weeks. Well now we have ran into yet another problem: We left the tank outside to dry and the weather was nice no sign of rain and then of course it rained so we will have to wait a few more days to put a 3rd coat on it. SO I'm hoping that pretty soon the tank will be all filled up and cycling. I'm thinking my cycling will go by pretty fast though.

Okay so here is the fish that I know hope to get:

-1 black ghost knife fish
-1 teacup stingray
-1 tyre track eel
-1 spotted gar
-possibly a clown knife fish
-possibly 3 bala sharks
-I also want some other kind of shark
-possibly some kind of arrowna

Please tell me how my list sounds. Thanks in advance.

how about this..
2 female scobina rays
1 tyre track eel
1 black ghost knife
5 balas
can anyone see any problems with this combination in a 6x2x2?
or..
1 black arowana
2 scobina rays
1 tyre track eel

I wish I could get scobina rays, but the only rays that are available here where I live are teacups and motoros. I like the first list better with the balas. I will have to switch the 2 scobina rays with 1 teacup. Don't worry I will be updating in a few years to a larger tank like yours, Cane for the ray and if that doesn't work out my lfs has a large tank with rays in and I could sell him back for money for another fish.

so you are getting a P.Laticeps?
i have just been doing a little research on these and im confused about their adult size.in the oddball index it says 12" disc
http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=34728
but on some other sites i looked at it says 24"+ disc do you know how big they get?

Yep, that's the one I'm getting. I found a breeder who breeds just teacups (P.Laticeps) and says the adult size is a 12'' disk, so I believe him because of the fact that he breeds them. He had them in very large tanks also. The largest being was 240 gallons and it was 8 feet long :hyper: The smallest was a 180 gallon

Sorry no updates yet. Where still waiting for a good day to paint. I was wondering can I have a group of clown loaches also like say 3 or 4 of them?

I have a stocking list but I'm not really sure if all the fish will go together, so if you see any problems please let me know. I also wont be getting all of these fish this is just some of the ideas that I'm toying around with:

-1 P.Laticeps (teacup) stingray
-1 tyre track eel
-1 black ghost knife fish
-1 clown knife fish
-1 black arowana
-1 spotted gar
-3-5 bala sharks
-3-5 clown loaches
-1 Datnoid

These are just some of the fish that I had in mind.

okay I wanted to know if it would be okay of I could tadpoles at a pond near me and feed them to my fish? I just thought if this and wanted to know if it would be safe and healthy for my fish. Thanks.

I found a fish that looks like a datnoid that I found in my lfs-it is a buttikoferi cichlid that is currently 8 inches. Will this be okay for my tank? Thanks
