Was wondering would my tank be ok for bout 6 days with out any fish would the bacteria last an is there anything I should do its been 2 days filter is running should i add small pinch of fish food each day are anything?

Add some ammonia right up until the day before you add your fish. Some fish food would help though it takes longer to break down and can sometimes be harmful if mould starts growing.
Are you doing a fishless cycle? if you are and the cycle is only 2 days in I assume you have added ammonia?
If you have added ammonia leaving the tank for 6 days without adding any more ammonia will be fine, it is going to take longer than 2 weeks before you start to see the ammonia being processed by the ammonia eating bacteria.

Ah I realised I miss read the thread. I was thinking you meant the cycle had finished and you had to wait 6 days to add any fish.

No my tank was fully cycled an i had fish in it till wednesday morning but I'm changing to cichlids but can't get them to Tuesday plus I added ocean rock an wanted the ph to rise fully...
What is the name of the ammonia stuff I should get are can i do anything else...

You could just get one of those horrible weekend feeding blocks and let it sit in your tank whilst you are away, it should slowly break down and keep your bacteria fed till you return, then just make sure you remove what ever is left of the feeding block (if anything) and do a decent size water change before you add your new fish
Your local pet store or P@H will sell the holiday blocks.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd add a bit of regular fish food (a regular day's worth of food) and not spend money on a product like the feeding block. The bacteria won't die off in that amount of time, and they will quickly bounce back and deal with the ammonia. The bacteria may go dormant for a brief period, but they should reanimate almost immediately (according to some studies I've seen) and they will handle the ammonia quickly. You might want to watch the ammonia when you first add the fish, but you should do that anyway when adding a bunch of fish like this to a tank.

Just curious...when you go away what are you supposed to use instead of a feeding block? Like if you were going away for say 10 or so days...what do you use?

I've left my tank for a week with no ill effect. If its longer than a week, I use a prescription medicine holder like this one:
And ask someone you trust to follow directions to feed them every few days. I usually ask my dad (former fishkeeper) to check on them while I am away and feed them the amounts of food in my medicine holder - this avoids the overfeeding concern.

lol sorry I'm just going away for 10 days soon and will have no one to feed my fish as I live rural and I'm going with my family. I know I can starve them for a while but I think 10 days is just a little too long

If you don't have any friends or neighbors you could ask then honestly, the only option I'd consider would be an automatic feeder device, not a block. There are just too many instances of them failing to work properly, like dissolving immediately or not at all. (Which doesn't do much to help your fish)
I'd get an automatic feeder and use it for a week before I left to ensure that it was working properly. Some are good, and some are total garbage. Research it carefully.

Okay,
I'll look around at my LFS and see which ones they recommend then come home and research it.
