Transferred my mixed batch of fish 48 hours ago into a bigger tank with double the volume of water - used some of the old water and added fresh water to fill - so an equivalent of maybe 60-70% water change. (Using ALL media from old filter into new to maintain ammonia and nitrite detox).
Hadn't noticed them doing this in old tank, but my albino cories must like the new set up, as they're laying eggs! Just observed one (maybe both, I can't tell them apart!) laying eggs BUT on the front glass of the tank! Central! Slap bang in full view of ALL the other inmates! The ruby barbs thanked them very much and followed within seconds, eating them all!!
I'm not sure what mix of male to female cories I have (I also have bronze ones), but it looks unlikely that we'll ever get babies, if they lay in such silly places, under the noses of the barbs!
I fell sorry for them but what idiots?!
