no salt with the plec, but i think half dosage of meds are ok with them

not going to risk it with the plec. dont want to risk healing one and damaging another. ill just keep up with the water changes and see how it goes. but its great news now that i kow he will heal. im hoping hes a double ct. allthough with him being so young and having damage its very hard to tell

I have an MF pair of Albino BN Plecos and they are fine with salt at a concentration of 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water. Plecos can actually tolerate salt unlike the common belief. But whatever you believe in, go for it. Salt is just there to kill any bacteria or infection.

ill monitor him and if needed remove the plec before the salt

they can tolerate it, just not for long, and it gives them a shorter lifespan

I have some peppered corys with my betta, his fin is a bit torn, have treated him with melafix, is that ok? with the corys too, they cant have salt, water is A ok.

Melafix shouldn't bother your corys. It never bothered mine when I was treating the tank. I use it as a preventative. They seem perfectly happy with or without it.
