Why Are The 'clubs' Being Closed?

well ive said my piece and im unsure wether or not it will make a difference,
I dont like the fact people think that clubs are setup to gain popularity or whatever.
yes i started the catfish club, my only reason for this is because i feel i have a huge understanding of pretty much all aquarium bred catfish.
so i would like to share this knowledge with other people who are interested in catfish. lets face it, everyone keeps them at somepoint, and it would be nice to show that theres alot of people who support the care and wellbeing of them, just as the qoute ''a pleco is for life not just for algae'' lol

anyways, i hope the clubs dont get closed down because of the amount of time poeple have put into them,
im sure the club members and others may support me with this.

or i maybe wasting my time because i sound silly. i dont no anymore.

would it be so bad to ask for a Club category within the fishforum website?
where each club can specificaly speak? even the people not in the clubs would happily read through them, because i myself do

I think a club board would be nice. Also, the livebearer club is extremely popular, as any poster there knows.
Now I'm going to wait it out. Or at least until they give us a good reason.
(This might take a while)

EDIT:
And no, I don't believe it was started for anything but discussing livebearers and sharing information, not something as ridiculous and superficial as popularity.

with clubs though its not just about finding information, its the general chitchat over that particular fish too! people are more likely to post about their oscars antics in the oscar club, than make a new thread about it in 'new worlds' which would then probably get closed or moved elsewhere as it was just chit chat! id hardly make a post to say 'my oscar scared the sheet outta me this morning i thought he was dead, he was infact just sulking cause he saw me eating a hotdog and i didnt offer him any!

If it's not rocket science to keep them why are there always threads asking about them?
Does that really need an answer.
Of course there's going to be people asking questions about them, as with any fish...It's a fish forum
I see you managed to skip my explanation and focus on one statement.

All I say is why need a club if a section or subsection already exists????..makes these sections a little futile don't you think to have a club inside a section dedicated to this group of fish ...

Which brings back to the question how many clubs can there be, and should they be pinned.Clubs for only specialist rare fish (another problem however would be where you would draw the line at) would solve this, in a way.
And no, if you did post that, and it had something to do with your oscar, it wouldn't be removed. If it went into just a random chat about nothing, It would eventually.Which brings back the question is it to do with general chat?

My point :good:

Havent even bothered to read thru this thread, just had a heads up from a fellow Oscar Club member, but frankly if the mods dont have respect for the members of this board to even give us the slightest warning of the closure of these threads and yes Im particulary referring to the Oscar club and Severum Appreciation, then frankly I dont want to be a member anymore. Alot of members of both of those 'Clubs' put alot of time and effort into giving as much information on these species of fish as they can, advising new owners and in some cases stopping the unfortunate abuse of these fish. Clearly our efforts are for no reason. Im sure the 'powers that be' will discuss the closure of these threads for approx 30 seconds amongst themselves, then make their decision, not giving a toss what the actual members of this board or the 'Clubs' think.

Cheerio.

Well said Minx, the mods are probably watching this thread and seeing how long they can get us to argue for.

yep, I'm sure they've nothing better to do.......

Try to enjoy this FREE service that they and the board owners provide!

Very thoughtful of you. What would you have done if given 'a warning'.
Maybe if you want your information to be remembered you should have a go at writing some fish profiles, or adding to the severum/oscar one's, I think you'll find many other fish are neglected similarly.
Over the 3 years I have been here I have gave time and effort in threads, only for them to disappear (disastrous).
I'm sure members can find out about "the unfortunate abuse" by typing in google for a care sheet of them, reading a book, or surfing the forum too.
As the mods are letting this thread go on, and reading it, somehow I think they do give a toss.
Still going?

I'm sorry Zoddyzod, have I upset you in some way?
Are you attempting to troll
His point was the site costs time and money to run, as well as the work from all the mods.Yet Minx feels victimised because a thread he's posted on a lot may go
