Why Are The 'clubs' Being Closed?

oohfeeshy i hope that wasn't directed at me , if so speaking like that is out of order imo
we all know there is no real authority its basic organisation as when one person is off line there is someone else to help out or post whatever on that particular thread if needs be thats all it means , its a bit of fun lighten up

if it wasn't then i appologise

It was directed at anyone and everyone. It may be harsh, but it's also true, otherwise why would the world and his wife feel the need to tell everyone they are member number 257 of the goldfish club, or some similar claim?

Can we not just unpin the clubs, remove the completely stupid one's (eg named after the forum itself), and edit the posts so there's no silly hierarchy.

Jealousy is a sin.
I think feeshy is for a word irritated, not jelous

I'm a boss of friday fryday club and I've seen a comment on their by Inch Worm herself that stated, that it was a brillant idea and will help fry owners on the forum aswell as attract breeders too

I still like the idea of Friday Fryday, but the whole club thing in general is what we are having a problem with.

I'd appreciate seeing some input about how we could get rid of any appearance of clubs or cliques and yet make everyone happy. Since this forum is for everyone, we want to make newcomers feel at home and free to join in any discussion that interests them. How can we best accomplish this?

This is the hot topic in the Mod's forum. All your posts are being read and considered carefully. We want to come up with a solution to this problem that will benefit the forum and all the present and future members, so please give us your ideas. :D

have emailed a mod over the idea of unpinning, taking away numbers and positions etc but leaving the threads to be posted on, hopefully they'll take to the idea. are the mods findong any of our suggestions useful?

edit sorry inchy i see you posted while i was typing. easiest solution has already been posted imo!

Somehow I don't think the mods will be removing 1000's of numbers.Would be dedication if they did!

they could just put a thread saying to remove numbers

no i mean the members remove the club numbers from their sigs etc

if you are given a member number you use it really

if you were given a number at a cheese counter which is there to keep a stock of the amount of sales they have done and to keep order of people in a que would you take that number or say this is stupid

a bit different i know but a simular principal
this is just so we know how many people are acctually in the (loose term) "club" thats all we all need to calm down (including me) and just wait and see what happens there is no point arguing about it imo its just the daft comments and people getting ****** at other people thats causing them lol

whatever happens happens

There's more to it than that. My concern is that there is talk about the clubs at the start and throughout the threads. To remove that it would take a lot of work and mean that every member would have to go through the threads and edit info out of their own posts. This would result in there being a number of empty posts on each of them. Is this something you would consider doing? Would everyone involved do it too? Or, would something else be better in the long run?

This is just ridiculous!
I personally have nothing at all against the people who create these 'clubs' nor those who join them, (as i am one!)
but in all reality there isn't a true need for them, they do make it very difficult for someone to find information on a particular subject within the 'club' thread, as opposed to just looking up a particular thread within a titled section.
there has been a lot of so called 'clubs' popping up, some more than others being absolutely ridiculous.
information may be lost? yes, of course it will, but it would take 1 person to ask a question within a section to get their answer, no need to go searching through a 'clubs' 10 pages to find out whether your green severum is meant to have 1 eye or 2.
at the end of the day, or the month at this rate, there is no need for the clubs and when thought about properly they probably cause more problems than good.
i don't meen to insult, argue, disappoint or just **** any body off but i truthfully believe they shouldn't be on here. the whole forum is set out in a fairly decent manner and no need to change it, use it as it is meant to be used, talk about whatever you want, but there is already sections for doing so, no need for any more!
