Aw, you guys are so nice. @bettafishlover86 I posted this comment last year when I was researching my Sumatra setup. Obviously it didn't work--I am terrible at growing rice.

I might bring back the "Badgerpelli" avatar after Christmas.

I must check out his channel later... This is very interesting!

Whistling Badger has his own YouTube channel. He is a man of many talents. He’s a musician among other things.
He’s also got a bow and arrow that can reach Ireland, Wales and SW England if us lot over here ever get out of order. If he moves to to NYC I’m heading down under with @Colin_T or @itiwhetu

Not to worry. My father is Native American, a Tribal Elder. He has a bow & arrows that can send the badger to the moon. But unlikely. We love badgers, particularly those who whistle with their flute.
What tribe are you? Lots of Shoshone and Arapaho around here. I'm thinking about making a western plains-style bow for my next project. I recently acquired some sinew and hooves from the local bison ranch, and during a hike with the Badgerling yesterday, I spotted a long, straight, knot-free juniper trunk, which is sort of like the Holy Grail for primitive bow makers. Of course I didn't have my saw or my GPS with me, and we were way off the trail (we generally wander off the man-made trails when we go out, unless Mrs. Badger is with us; she's the linear thinker in the family  ) so it will be interesting trying to find it again.

We are Choctaw, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. There are 2 other Choctaw tribes. We’re either the 3rd or 5th largest federally recognized tribe in the US, depending on what one reads. About 250 K. We were forced from the Deep South (Trail of Tears) to Oklahoma in the early 1830s. During the Dust Bowl, many Choctaw left OK to farm the Central Valley region of California. My family is from there. This area has the largest Choctaw population outside OK.

Good luck on getting back to that juniper! I always wear a Fitbit that has GPS, but never used it. The GPS that is. I count steps.

I use a GPS a lot when I'm hunting, to make sure I stay on public land. Other than that I don't have a ton of use for it.

My daughter has been studying the westward expansion era, and we've watched a couple videos about Indian Removal Act and the trail of tears. A very sad and shameful part of our history.

I'm sad to say that growing up abroad, I am very unfamiliar with Native American tribes or their history. I need to find some history books and fix that. :(
Much online!
