Is your father the Indian Chief?
No, my father is not the Chief. The Chief has to live in one of the 10 Choctaw Counties in Oklahoma. My father moved west years ago & would never return. He knows the Chief well & has flown around with him in the Choctaw Jet.

All enrolled tribal members can vote for the Chief every 4 years. They mail out absentee ballots. I voted for the current Chief & so did everyone in my family that was eligible to vote. I don’t think they have term limits because usually the same guy is elected until he retires.

Tribal members outside OK can also vote on constitutional amendments, but not in Council District elections. One has to live in the district to vote, similar to voting for a congressperson here.

I use a GPS a lot when I'm hunting, to make sure I stay on public land. Other than that I don't have a ton of use for it.

My daughter has been studying the westward expansion era, and we've watched a couple videos about Indian Removal Act and the trail of tears. A very sad and shameful part of our history.
Yes, terribly sad & shameful.

As in like, the president of India?

The term ''Indian'' is considered derogative by people of Native American descent. And a Tribal Elder doesn't necessarily mean that he is ''the chief''.
I will ask Jenny and apologize if I something wrong. Thank you for telling me.
