This thread was split from Barracuda's here

Well, I thought I could see the difference, but now I am truely undone. But I am undone by any picture IDs anyway. Why do I bother to ask? (This refers to IDing Barracuda's new fish.)

So sorry about the pastazensis. That is always so helpless. It happens. :-( A pause for the weary traveler. (This refers to the fish that didn't make it in Inchworm's shipment.)

I like my caudamaculatus. They are cute little guys. Rather friendly too. I got some in my last shipment. (Inchworm got new caudamaculatus.)

Well, it is like old home week!

I look forward to more pics, esp of the new tank.

I have 3 tanks in my bathroom! haha I was thinking I might put the Brochis in one of them. I am thinking to move the pandas, duplicarus, weitzmani and gossei/suessi into the dining room 50 usg from the bathroom. I think they will still stay lively together even there. Actually Polardbear started the whole thing talking about the tank in her bathroom.)

I have a fry net full of panda, duplicarus and San Juans, and I have fingers crossed that some of those eyes will turn out to be gossei from my pair. (These fry are in the bathroom!)

Oh wow, I feel so much better now knowing both Inchworm and Jollysue have tanks in their bathrooms, I get such odd looks when I mention the fry tank in my bathroom! I don't even mention my bedroom closet to people anymore.

Oooh! bedroom closet! I hadn't thought of that one!

I remember Synirr talking about having them on the floor. haha I've had that too. When I first moved I had a 10 usg on the bathroom sink counter for 6 months or more. Talk about looks! "You've got a tank on the sink!?" The fry tanks are on a metal shelving rack in the hall space going into the bathroom! That's where the long fins are too. So we look at each other often!

A 10 gallon tank just fits so perfectly on the sink counter doesn't it? I could actually do one on either side of the sink if I wanted to.

The closet actually is one of my favorites. It's 7 ft wide by 2 ft deep. I've got 2 54" tall 4 shelf wire shelf units in it right now. The shelf units can be easily reconfigured to accomodate a lot of tanks. In the past I mainly used it for spawning bettas but it could just as easily become the cory closet. I've only got a 29 gallon and a 20 long in it now but if I wanted to be really efficient I could put more 10 gallon tanks in it than I want to think about.

You two are such practical ladies! :D Do you have any pictures? I hadn't thought about putting a tank on the bathroom sink, but I have two of them on my kitchen counters. I never replaced my microwave, and now there's no room left for one.

Here's a picture of my bathroom tanks. I've considered squeezing a 55 gallon in there, but then I'd probably have to sit sideways, and people would really think that odd.

Sitting sideways doesn't work well! :hyper:

I go everyplace sideways, including slipping sideways into the toilet seat. :X

I woke up thinking I would have to appologize to Barracuda for my part in hijacking his thread.

Inchy!!!! :shout: Separate anopther thread!!!

Really I think the Brits love bathroom humor. At least BBC and Brit comedians do. B)

If anyone has been reading this thread and doesn't understand what's going on, it's been split off from a more serious topic. Still, it's been too much fun to just let go.

Please tell us where you keep your tanks. Whether in ordinary places, or unusual ones, pictures will be welcome too. :D

Oh! Goody!! I get a chance to try my new camera that came today! But it will be next week before I get anything posted.

The good news! I jjust got a call that I am getting the 2 bedroom next month! I will have a fish room! But there will still be a tank in the bathroom!

The bad news--esp for the Corys--is I will be moving next month! :hyper: :shout:  :D

Wow, it's great to have Inchworm back! Thanks for splitting this off!

This picture is one half of the spawning closet (the cory half of course). The other half of the closet has the same type of shelf unit and currently has a 20 long betta grow out tank. I've thought about taking the doors off for better access but it's nice to be able to close them and give the fish some privacy for spawning.

This is the fry tank on the bathroom counter. It's a wonderful location for quick & frequent water changes.

wow im gobsmacked lol , fish tanks in bathrooms!!! lmao, in england we get enough sink to do the basic 'wash our face' and just enough room to turn around in our bathrooms let alone put any tanks in there and we dont have plug sockets unless personally fitted lol what an interesting post, lol :D :D

Hurray for the 2nd bedroom, oh no for the moving part. I hate moving just about more than anything. Is the new place in your same complex or will the move require driving? Next month? It would take me at least 3 months to pack up all the stuff I have, I don't want to think about moving the tanks and fish as well.

Besides the tanks in my bedroom closet and bathroom, I also have tanks in my living room and dining room but that's pretty normal. I have 3 shrimp tanks in my entertainment center, I'll have to take pictures of those later.

I fortunately only have to move down the sidewalk about 4 apartments over. And I did the big move 2 years ago (downsizing from a 3 bedroom house I had owned for 30+ years. I have a local lfs guy that is going to bring the equipment and crew to help move the tanks for a modest sum. And my employer will send a crew of boys to move the heavy furniture for a McDonalds dinner for all.

It should not be as terrible as the last move, although there are more tanks and water. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
