What’s new (fish related chat only)

I moved my 38 hex from the fish room (which now has no aquariums in it) to my office, on a wall near the foundation edge. I still will probably have to drain it during foundation work, but it's not sitting centered on the low spot anymore. I was down to 4 baby albino bristlenose, or the other 6 were hiding in the wet gravel during the move. That is a possiblity. I'm tired now, big pond tomorrow.

How can you spend a lot on plants for a 10 gallon? The tank is so small, and if the plants are good, and you are skilled and patient, they'll fill a tank in for 20 bucks maximum. Around here, the price of plants has skyrocketed, doubling in just a couple of years. But it's relative with a small tank.

There’s a large variety of plants I want for my scape, it’s a very detailed forest scape. I could easily do with much less variety, but I want to simulate a natural above ground forest, with mosses, “fern” like plants, grass, ground cover etc. forests, especially in the PNW, have immense variety which I want to mimic as closely as possible 😁

This will be my first scape that is mimicking an above ground landscape, so I want to do it with variety from the start!

Wow. That will be hard in a 10. How long til the scape escapes the space you have for it?

I'm good at making scapes like logging clearcuts, so go for it.

You need to show us the progress on this bad boy when you get started

I picked up 5 albino tiger barbs today...super cool little fish, especially under the night time lighting

It will be! It’s gonna be tricky. Hoping it works.
I’m buying a pair of small aquascaping shears so hoping I can keep it trimmed. Since it’s my only tank besides my very unscaped 55g I’ll have plenty of time and devotion for it :)

I’ll make a tread for it! My driftwood is currently soaking. Hoping to get plants in it by mid-feb, in need of another art commission or sale before I can splurge on plants :)

Had a random burst of motivation and decided to carefully slide my already fully and cycled 10 gallon across the counter, turn it around and paint the back black. Fingers crossed it goes well 😂

I totally understand those random bursts of motivation and activity but you drained down (hopefully you drained it) your entire aquarium that you cycled just to slide it down the counter?? 😂 Why? 😅
Painting the back black was understandable though. That's the best way to add the background, just paint it on. Lol.

Oh also, we need photos otherwise your new tank isn't actually real 😉😂

Nope it’s still full I just slid it carefully so it didn’t slosh around 😂
