What Lurks In The Deep Dark Places.

That is mycedium I think, I have long since taken that back to the LFS as it wasn't doing well in my tank.

no LPS, big fleshy thing with the odd sweeper, the thing is my tank is a pretty nasty place to be if your not an NPS coral or invert.... everything just seems to want to eat everything else lol. you should see my peppermint shrimp, its bigger then my clowns

Any sighn of the mantis?

yes and no, i know it is in there but where.... who no's. its a spearer so i am not to worried about it as it shouldnt get big enough to take any of my fish. tbh as long as it behaves its welcome to stay.

Well something is seriously wrong in the tank, all my lps has perished and my suns have just dissolved, everything checks out but there is also a strange slick on the water surface.

I am going to let it run as is for a few weeks, remove the dead and dying stuff and then start skimming and using bio pellets, carbon and do a massive w/c. Also going to scrap the 'sump' due to soon to be born child.

Any pollutants been used nearby eg airasol etc?

not usually mate, i did think that... tbh i think the tank is crashing as all my nps softies are fine its just all the hard corals

Ahh fair enough so if it does crash (not willing for it to) will this become strictly azoox then ?

Or will you just re stock

Just azoox, it's pretty much that way now. That probably why it's going a bit wrong lol

So today will see this tanks rebirth begin!
Starting with s good sort out, a course of big WC's then onto skimming/biopearls.
The crash has killed almost all my coral except the yellow gorgs (one is great and the other is ok) some xenia and some paly's. I think after a good fragging and some magic the White gorg can be saved.
All my fish and inverts are fine which leads me to think that it was a phosphate crash as phisphate resistant corals survived.

Just goes to show that regardless of what we think we know it can all go wrong anyway. Ho hum just means I can really concentrate on my beloved Azoox's.

I think its time you done an update on this tank :p

I would do mate but not much is happening, it's just coming out of the bum end of a pretty big crash and I have just got to clear the last few dying bits out (I noticed my tuxedo urchin ceased to be this morning so that's gotta come out)
I've got a nice big WC planned (then some more) but very little will be happening for a while unfortantly due to impending baby.
