righty so the dark side has me totally hooked, i am now a full blown follower of the NONCOL (needers of no crappy old light) so i have decided that my little NPS tank isnt big enough for what i want to keep. this means the large tank needs to be converted! tomorrow i will be emptying my 50g and pulling the LED's out (they will go to an LPS nano)
most of my soft corals will stay put as they will be ok under the lighting in tank but i will be making some changes.
the marisys will be offed and replaced by a 50l ish refugium with (later) a skimming compartment and NP bio pellets, an auto feeder will also be installed that will fire for 1 min every hour to feed, this will feed 250ml of 'feed' in a minute, the feed will be diluted with tank water and kept in suspension with a little power head.

updates soon.

During the sort out I found a sponge growing at the back of the tank so I moved it into view

I've also rigged my auto feeder up and just need a digi timeclock to get it running, it consists of a peripump that pipes food into the tank via

ps oh hang on, I could look on the members map!!

So today I picked up a few more gorgs, another menella sp - this one has White polyps rather than yellow and is a stunner.
The other is another Guaiagorgia of done variety that looks as if it is on deaths door but I think that I can bring it back with a little effort.

My LFS has asked me to help him build an azoox tank in his shop so that he can better care for these corals before they are sold :) how much fun am I gonna have doing that!

Well today I was very very naughty, even though I am pretty over stocked I still reserved a fish to pick up tommorow.
I just couldn't help myself, tommorow I pick up my flashing tilefish (Hoplolatilus chlupatyi)

Sadly I went to the shop today and it had died, to many people trying to make it flash.

Next time he will keep one out the back for me so it doesn't get stressed
