what kind of fish..?

oh ya I drew a better picture yesterday at school for my friend, she lives in the dorms but is going home for easter, he moms friend is a fish expert so she is going to see if she knows what kite was lol maybe I should go to A-1 Aquarium with a drawing and see what they think, its a small family owned fish store, the store I got my Betta from, they know there stuff and unlike some places their fish are healthy lol my betta is 2 years old now, the betta I got from another store only lived 2 weeks lol

wait a second. you said swordtails. did you have any fancey ones? Like long fin etc?

that is all that i can think of, some kind of cross breeded live bearer. That is what the pic looks most like to me.

nope they were just plain orange sword tails, the ones that came with the tank were very small too, the only one I remeber anyway was electra she was just a pale orange very small female. the chances that he was a more exoctic fish are likley, as I said he came from my dads coworker who is a fishkeeper of many gorgous and unusual fish, he was a bit big to be a sword tail of any sort, remeber he was about twice the size of a betta, and all my sword tails anyway are slightly smaller then my betta, he was larger then a betta but not as big as a goldfish kinda thing. he was not a crossbreed my mom said she had figered out what he was before, she just does not remeber, all she remebers was something about carp :/ I am leaning towards long finned balloon ram right now just because a balloon ram is the closest lookin fish to him that I have seen so far.

rams arent carps though. Did you do a internet search on exotic carps maybe to see if anything matched what he looked like?

I know rams are not carps lol for all I know my mom was hallucinating about the carp thing lol

littlefishie, no sorry, his body shape is rounder and smoother, and his fins are much longer :(

oh well i will keep asking around and hunting for a kind of fish that looks like kite lol

My vote goes for some kind of fancy gouramis. I have often thought my blue ones (they have red highlights) look like big fat bettas =P Their fins arent as long and flowing but colorwise etc very similar =]

I did say a small gourami before as well, but she didnt say yes or no to it, though I believe that it is a no as well.
