What are you doing today?

Oh no!! Are you able to use the wheelchair as a seat though? Like they can place you in the wheel chair and wheel you to the table?

Just out of curiosity (sorry for asking. Just really curious), how can you type while paralyzed? Was it just your legs? Or was it a short period of time being paralyzed and now you are able to?
Again, sorry if the question comes across as offensive or something, I'm just purely curious.
I’m at his house and don’t have my wheelchair with me. His house also has a step up to the dining room, so not wheelchair friendly

It’s leg paralysis with whole body weakness. So I can still move my arms, I’m just weak. Once the paralysis leaves my legs will still be too weak to walk on for a few hours- few days

I’m not offended :)

Oh ok... I'm so sorry you have to experience that.
I figured your legs would be weak after the paralysis is gone but I didn't know that their so weak after that it can take a few DAYS to regain full functionality.

If they have you over often they should find a way to make it wheelchair accessible.
Nothing permanent, just maybe like a small ramp they can place for you to use while you are over there? Idk... Just an idea...

I apologize for asking. I feel bad, even though you say you were not offended

I usually just have help up into the house and stay on the couch. Eat on the couch too but Christmas dinner is different :)

Had a bit of an unusual Christmas day. Dinner was a local sub shop's BLT as they are in easy walking distance... picked it up yesterday. With the extreme cold spell we had my car has refused to start for close to a week so I could not get to the grocery store easily.

Don't even say this is sad or bad. If you believe in what Christmas is supposed to be about a big fancy dinner and bunches of presents are not a factor.

Just so happens that I really like a good BLT and there are too many people in our world that would consider my simple sandwich a major feast.

Bottom line is that I ate something that I like. I had a very peaceful and quiet day which is what I wanted. It was a good day and I didn't have to spend half of it cooking. It was actually a REALLY good day! :)

For sure! I didn’t get to spend Christmas with my family this year, my boyfriends family let me spend it with them, and I enjoyed spending time with them. For dinner we had arroz con frijoles negro (traditional Cuban rice and beans with vinegar and olive oil) and just spent time laughing and playing board games together. Then I got to come home, curl up in my heated blanket and cuddle my pets in the peace and quiet and relax

My wife and I still fondly remember the year we made BLTs for Christmas dinner, then spent most of the day xc skiing and then warming up by the fire. Simple is good!

Other than a Reuben, a BLT may well be my favorite sandwich. ;)

Another good day as, since it warmed up a bit, my car fired right up. I've decided that I need a new battery.

What we did today: I actually got up with the alarm for the first time in a week (we've been sick). Did a bit of XC skiing with the family, took a nap. Now we're clearing the post-Christmas-and-sickness debris from the house so it will be a pleasant place to be when we return from our trip to Casper later in the week.

Somewhere in there I reorganized my tool board and cleaned up the shop. Ready to start on a new bow project, one I've been thinking about and looking forward to for a long time: A juniper recurve backed with elk and bison sinew. Should be fun. 😁
