What are differences between aquariums owned by rich people vs aquariums owned by poor/normal people?

What makes me happy, is knowing at the end of the day, my fish are happy and well cared for. :)

I just saw a vid..one thing money does thats different? You can buy 20 Roseline barbs and watch them shoal back and forth. I bought three at the smallest size you can in August 2019. They really grew..but yeah,10 would be something. Not going to spend it.

And then there is the Lower Low income. That's me., All my tanks, etc. were purchased USED. Offerup great place to shop. My fish are New tho.
You buy a brand new tank and set it up, put fish in it and guess what ? You now have a used aquarium. One of the nice things about this hobby is the lack of super high end luxury items that serve no purpose other than to gee whiz your friends.

My answers were more practical than philosophical I guess.
I've spent decades thinking of the great aquariums and gardens I could create. Now? Not getting younger and no point setting up many aquariums as it would go from fun to burden.
I never was big on breeding fish,or for breeding and selling. I don't like to look at breeder aquariums or fish raising aquariums. I have done it..and doing it killed that part. Like I posted before,I never felt like all the local stores would give me anything close to make it worth it. In the 80's was the heyday and we had MANY aquarium stores locally.

I've spent enough on the 240 in plants also. More fish is when old fish expire now.

I agree. As soon as you take the labels off, it technically becomes a “used” tank.

I don’t see why people are so scared in buying used tanks. Why waste the money on a super expensive new one, when you can get a used one for half the cost?

I understand wanting a new tank that is built to your likings, but if you just want a regular tank, then get a used one. Literally it's not that big of a deal if it's in good condition.

Not saying this is everyone but there are some celebrities and rich folks who wont wear the same outfits multiple time so they probably think it's got used germs on it or something.... once again this is only a couple people and not the majority

Used large glass tanks are chancy. Large Acrylic should go decades without a leak..and scratches? If you want it crystal clear- it can be done again. How good you are at buffing is the limit.
I wish before I re set mine up,I knew about that. Everything I've done since has helped, but let me tell you if it was empty and dry,i could really get it nice again. Like 1986.

Nah it's they don't wear the same look more than once, like they'll keep the clothes, but they won't repeat looks (certain looks are probably repeated, but like going out for parties/events/etc.).

And don't forget, many celebrities wear clothes that aren't theirs, it belongs to a designer that makes it for them to advertise or whatever and they'll wear it for a day and give it back.

If you can get a used tank buy it ! You will save enough to put more into fish, plants or fancy lighting systems. Every aquarist should have the basic skills of re-sealing a tank and replacing glass. Those two things are very easy even for the most unhandy among us. A garage sale 20 gallon for 5 bucks is a great thing any day of the week.
And as far as clothes go and not wanting to wear the same thing twice, do what I do. I never change clothes. I am always in costume as Aquarium Man.
