Weather

We had hot easterly winds in winter and we still have them now in spring. Before 2010 we only had easterlies in January and February at the height of summer. Now we have them from August to April. Hot dry dusty wind blowing in from the desert :(

Yeah , I heard we might get a little snow in the higher elevations . Friday night might be our best chance for our first frost . It’s been a nice long growing season . I have some winter squash that’s coming along nice . A little rain wouldn’t hurt my feelings as it’s been bone dry for quite a while here . The trees are turning color nice and I hope the weather cooperates enough so that they turn completely and fall on their own rather than snow forcing them to fall before it’s time . We had one of those from green to ground falls last year and I missed the dry leaves blowing around on the ground .

We're in the fall season and the weather is as it6 should be for this period of time. But in the coming days, the weather forecast says that it's gonna be like summer again for a couple of days.

We had four days of cold nights, (oxymoron there). The days have been chilly enough to turn the cars heat seat on.

The forecast for the next several days is warm (70'sF) with decent nights.

I dislike the cold and hate snow.

Move to Perth in Western Australia. We don't get snow and we get less rain every year and it only rains for 4-5 months during the year. The rest of the time it's hot and dry and unpleasant. :)

We spent 15 years or so traveling from November through April or May throughout the Southern States. This will be third winter since we curtailed that activity, and each reminds me of my dislike of the season. I find hot / dry weather wonderful. Hot / Humid not so much .... Cold / Snowy hateful.

Zero celsius again this morning, but the big moon makes it pleasant to walk the dog early anyway. Every morning now the ground is covered with a hard frost, though the forecast is for a couple of warmish days early next week.

We've had a pattern going for a few years where south of us, in the US, they get a lot more snow than we do.It's been odd to be sitting in Canada seeing the northern US get walloped by storm after storm, while last winter we had two snowfalls with more than 5 cm, and barely had snow til January. We'll see what this winter has on tap.

The fishroom is winterized now, and in there, seasons have changed. It's warm season for the fish. Once the dehumidifier comes on, it goes up a couple of degrees.

We are harvesting Tilapia today, but my grow out tanks, out side have been wrapped up the last 3 days, below freezing lows, and only in the mid 50,s F. For high’s… today warmer than normal, so a good day to harvest fish…

I can't remember when I last saw frost around here. I think I was about 6 or 7 and dad was hiding coloured Easter eggs in the backyard and there was a bit of frost on the lawn when I went out to the loo (outside toilet). No indoor toilets back then.

Can you put that spray on polystyrene foam around the outside of your containers to insulate them. A 4 inch thick layer would insulate them well and cut your heating bill down and prevent the cold air cooling them overnight.

Snowing like crazy today. It's barely sticking, the temp being just above freezing. Got rained out of an antelope hunt last night, which isn't something that happens very often.

-7c this morning, with a wind chill on top. Refreshing, and invigorating. I had to haul out the winter coat and boots, and bring the shovels out of the garage.

There is no predicting what will come. It could be snowing next week - it could be just a few dustings until February. Last year was a brown Christmas. either way, we have a predicted warm period for 2 days at the end of the week, and then I figure it'll be cold til March.

The temperature in the Bay was up this summer, and had more Great White sharks and dolphins than usual. So what that reflects - maybe it'll snow dolphins next week. Or antelopes. I've still never seen one of those.
