Wildfires… our area is being evacuated

The fire has not been responding to slowing efforts. They are setting up a larger scale command center at the fairgrounds and brining in outside support.
Even though they are trying not to cause panic and telling people who aren’t in the immediate path to stay put, firefighters who we know are telling people to get out because it’s not slowing down and the wind always picks up at night in the valley

Over 10,000 acres burned since 5 am, 0% containment and the wind is still pushing the fire west. The fire has jumped from one side of the highway to the other and spreading

Are you able to try clearing brush from around your house? It may decrease the chances of it burning

We don’t have much brush immediately next to our house, but we are surrounded by trees and the trees area is protected wetland that we can’t clear (even though it’s our property)

Even if you could clear the trees you don't have time to...
I wonder if you can set up some sort of non-flamable barrier around your home?
What about your dog? Its a big dog so do you plan to squeeze him in the car?

We have an extremely large vehicle you’d be amazed how much we can fit in there, we would be bringing all of our chickens as well

I'm glad someone else has the body aches, thought I had some sort of influenza. I also have a mild but worsening sinus infection.
