Weather

Snow really came down for a while. I'm on the third floor and there was a while when I could barely see the ground. We have around five inches, or so, so far with around eight hours of snow to go.

LOL! Middle of March and we get the heaviest snow of the year. Not complaining as this snow will help prevent fires in the mountains this summer. Also, it is not unusual to get snow in March and it will be mostly gone in a few days. Well, gone where I am at the eastern part of the foothills. This snow will stay in the mountains and not be totally gone until as late as the end of July. That is why a good amount of snow is necessary around here as the gradual melt keeps the ground moist. Only explained that as many, other than @WhistlingBadger and @Back in the fold , may not be aware of how this works in Wyoming and Montana.

Here, way east, we usually get snow around now. We're just seeing the rain taper off on what might have been THAT storm, above freezing version. The world has changed from ice and snow to brown fields with mud. The dog just wants to roll.

On Saturday, it was 14c/67f with melting snow all around, then Sunday was 4c/39f. It'll be a roller coaster for the next month. We've been known to see snow in May.

But hey, before I "met" you guys I never thought about there being a "Wyoming" to have bad weather. Apparently, there's an "Idaho" too. Montana's famous though.

@GaryE : LOL! YES, there IS a Wyoming and Idaho. ;)

I don't know how far north you are in Eastern Canada but what is the latest you have seen snow where you live. Back in 1969 myself and others took a 750 mile canoe trip following the Hudson Bay Explorer's route from Lake Temagami to James Bay, an inlet off of Hudson Bay at the mouth of the Moosonee River. Woke up one morning to snow in the first week of July but we were in the area of 4-500 miles north of Lake Temagami

yesterday down in the south we were 30 degree; today we are 70 degree. thursday the forcast is for a hard freeze at 28 degree. Up down Up down and all around.

I'm in the deep south, only 80 minutes from the US border in Maine. I can actually see some of the US islands in the Gulf of Maine after about 30 minutes in the car. So this ain't north.

But you forget relativity as your south is my north; though i suppose if I was south enough i would be your north.

blizzard for us today... a snow day was a lot more fun, when I was a kid... more like a honey do day for me;)
