Water Treatment

Am I right in thinking that water treatment for goldfish is the same as for freshwater fish?

I bought some "Interpet Gold, Tap Safe" today and just noticed that it says for GoldFish on it.

Will this be ok for my freshwater fish?

i think it is but some treatments very and i think that should be ok for freshwater fish

The blurb online for it says:

"Specially developed for Goldfish in small tank and bowl enviroments. Tap Safe treats water by removing chlorine and heavy metals and adding colloids."

I haven't a clue what "colloids" are.

I wish I'd have noticed in the store, could of at least asked but I just saw "tap safe" and assumed it was universal.
