I went to my LFS tonight and took a look at their bettas.

I was looking at the new Crowntails they have.... Is it possible when you mix a Veiltail and a Crowntail to get what looks like a Crowntail but with the shape of a Veil? These betta's all had the same shape tail as a Veil, but were split at the ends like a Crown.

And, as usual, they were in the smallest little cups I had ever seen and I wanted to take them all home!

:dunno:

they may be comb-tails, which have a little bit of ray extension byond the webbing of the fins... i think that is from crossing veils and crown tails :D

So if they are Combtails, what is my Nitro? I thought he was a Combtail, but he doesn't look like them. He's only about 5 months old.

Humm, I got him from wuv, she said he was a BF black/orange CT .... and my other guy was a MG Delta.

I'll have to take some new pictures....

I'm not sure what age they mature enough to where their tails are fully developed, perhaps he is just young yet? Like I said, I'm very new to all this, I was just taking a guess based off the tail type pictures in the pinned topics ;)

In Nitro's case,he may or may not get actual extended branching. He is a CT/plakat mix and only a small handful of them came out with actual rays, the rest are just stubby  But cute! Some of his brothers are just now getting rays long enough to show,it takes a while for them to grow in IME.

:D Thanks Wuv! :D

He is a CUTIE! And wow, full of himself!

I think Yuki might be a VT/CT mix. The ends of his tail doesn't look like most of the VT I've seen.

Im also new in betta breeding. But i dont think veiltail and crowntail cross is good idea. Because crowntail spikes wil not look good on VT.
