I think commenting on their personal appearance is gross. No should have to look a certain way to make strangers happy.

Wait a minute - why does it need to be on the bottom?
One of my favourite pastimes is to throw the food on top of the frogbit (I have quite a lot of it ). They are the only ones in the tank that manage to get to it and the rest of the fish have to wait for them to tip it off the leaves before they can eat.

You know, that's an interesting one. I don't find the tatoos and odd hair attractive at all. On the other hand, I have no reason to expect that dear Rachel gives a pleco's butt what I think about her appearance. On the third hand,* I've watched a few of Rachel's videos with my eleven-year-old, who commented, as eleven-year-olds will, on the odd appearance. I agreed, then told the Badgerling that Rachel is an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, creative, dedicated person; from the little she's shared of her personal life, she seems to be a very strong, honest, deeply-feeling person, and based on the few times we've emailed back and forth, she is very friendly and has a great sense of humor. So, that's why we don't judge people by their appearances.

But yeah, the tattoos and hair can be distracting. You get used to them. As the late, great Rich Mullins said, "My friends ain't the way I wish they were; they are just the way they are."

Neon tetras are mean little turds.

I disagree, mine are usually the ones getting bullied by the serpae tetras. I had one jump out of the tank to escape being bullied years ago. Knew something was up when earlier that day its color was waaaay off

I''d been wondering about Colin lately, too - he brings gentle darkness to the forum that I love, and I miss him.

I hope he's happily were-wolfing somewhere nice with his specially-made three-lens sunglasses to hide his very distinctive wolfie eyes so the peasants don't immediately reach for the pitchforks. (As if three eyes aren't enough, but in this day and age it seems almost anything is a fashion statement)

Seriously - I hope he and his family are keeping well.
