Thanks @AdoraBelle DearheartNow I’m hurt.
I'm sorry. I thought it was @LostBear 's comment about Alabaster. I was just joking around.
I've always been impressed that you know how to blanch stuff.
Now I'm even more impressed you have a garden.

It must have been a common pleco we accidentally bought one time many years ago (under the assurance from the pet shop that "it wouldn't get much bigger"). I mentioned it on another thread somewhere - it outgrew the tank, and the bigger tank we bought especially for it, other fish were disappearing (and I don't believe that they ALL ran away from home) and it was very smug and sneery because Mr LostBear was rather proud of it . . .I know it was a joke, I was being mysterious...
I know some people dislike Plecos, I just love them.
This is disappointing Vanalisa - I've always thought that water sprite sounded delightful and fey , too.Okay....
Water Sprite ends up a tangled mass that far surpasses the initial association I made with their name when I squealed with glee while handing over the green.
Any real Water Sprite would die a slow and un-mystical death amongst thosr clumps of incomprehensible detritus that stole their name.
False Advertising.
The end.
No crumbs from a blanched cucumber.Of course it is (jealous you have a garden)
It's just he looks so comfy there on his waterbed, although I don't usually approve of eating in bed ...
Sounds like the name of a 90s angst band.No crumbs from a blanched cucumber.

They look like best buddies
Bettas are not community fish and shouldn't be kept as such. That is all that I have to say on the subject for now, as this is not the proper thread for it...SO CUTE!!! How?? I am currently setting up a 130l tank for a little betta and a friend wants me to take her bristlenose, research suggests that betta can be happy and safe in community tanks when done the right way so it kind of got me excited about maybe even adding a few harlequin rasboras etc. Could you possibly tell me about your experience, how you introduced your betta to this pleco and if there are any other tank mates? Tia
OK, here's an unpopular opinion: Pets (certainly fish, but even furry, relatively smart ones such as horses and dogs) are property, not children, and shaming someone who decides to get rid of an animal is just plain ignorant.
Of course they are living things, and by taking them on we are making a commitment to meet their needs, to the best of our ability, as long as they are under our care. And of course, some people do form emotional attachments to some animals, and most of us have experienced a very special one that does indeed feel like a true part of the family. That is natural and good. I am not being cold-hearted, just real. Pets aren't people. We buy and sell animals. We do not "adopt" them; they are not children. (I tend to think that people who refer to pets as their children might not understand animals or children)
As such, there is no shame in responsibly selling, trading, or otherwise rehoming our animals if our circumstances change, they prove incompatible with the life we want to lead, we need the money, or we simply see a different one that we want more.
There. I said it.
Edit: This mini tirade is not pointed at anyone on this forum. It's just something I see a lot in the real world, and since we're sharing pet-related opinions, I thought I'd throw it out there.
