Undiscovered

where still waiting on these pics steve :) haha

I know sorry about the wait had camera trouble, SD card wont reg as on my PC and it will work in the camera but the camera needs a lead to work on the PC lol. I found the lead about an hour ago so pic's will be up tonight without fail, didn't think that many people were interested lol.

Thanks tho, makes me feel wanted lol. ;)

Did the UG grow? I have been looking into this for a new project for my Rio. Any pics of it? All I seem to come across is little blobs of it rather than the fully grown in stuff.

Nice pics btw.

Its spreading mate, needs its next trim to get it going more sideways, been a hectic week so will get round to it tomorrow.

Sorry guys been so busy, here's the update anyway, things are filling in and growing fast, even the needle ferns are growing quick. Had a little melt from the Staurogyne but its bouncing back, the Hygro Pinnatifida is taking forever to change to submerged but the Crispus Red seems to love its new position and is chucking up leaves left right and centre, had to hack 4 off today lol and I now have 2 of them after a little tissue culturing experiment. The Blyxa is the mid rear is doing great, added Hygrophila Compact to the front left behind the Staurogyne and a little more UG. Considering swapping the UG for Dwarf Hairgrass and HC tho as its taking an age to spread and I'm impatient. Hacked all of the moss off and left a few strands on there so it will take a while to fill back in allowing the UG full light rather than the shadow. Buying 12 pads 8cm x 8cm of Fissidens Fontanus after Christmas for £50 so looking forward to that too as it will smother the wood work. Oh and the rocks have been removed from holding down the wood. Any way enough talk more pics.

Crispus Red.

aaw nice one looking very smart :) whats the name of the grass at the bottom i presume it the UG you on about, but whats it full name?

Nice looking tank. And a really good explanation on how to set it up.
Loved the superglue method. I agree its a pain to use string.
And when that carpet finally takes over and the moss on the wood grows up it will look awesome.
One question what substrate is that? Looks similar to akadama.
I'm asking because akadama is hard to find these days and i'm looking for a good substrate without having to go to the ultra expensive stuff. I want to stop using tesco's cat litter.
I

Thanks, yeah its one of those very difficult plants to grow, mines fine but not spreading so well, might have to swap it out for HC.

Thanks mate, very kind of you :), I'm defo swapping the UG for HC, too impatient, plus my substrate is a little old now so its sticking together a little and the HC will do better in it. I'll do another UG carpet on another scape. :)

Thanks for all the very kind comments guys. :D

So, my tank sprung a leak, came in to find the front room side board covered in water, wasn't happy, drained some out till the leak stopped, little scared it was gonna just pop after so got a clear seal in the sale at pets@home yesterday, think its 85 litres rather than 60 and was only £40 so that'll do for now. Had to buy new substrate tho as the florabase was getting old so picked up some black this time. Water changes and ammonia here I come. :)
