Trigon Island 190

No, not exactly to plan. I upped the P in mine to 10ml along with N. Although i dose it sunday straight after a water change, and leave it at once weekly. Mainly through fear of overdoing it. Looking at my tank now i can see a 1/2 inch line of GSA along the substrate level.

Scrap all that. I mean to say GDA, being Green Dust Algae. Thats what i'm having issues with! Sorry. Not GSA, but GDA. May be the same issue, with the same basic remedy, but getting the name right helps alot more i suppose. So my issue is dust algae covering the stones, glass and glass on first 1/2 inch of substrate.

Same applies with dosing as i first mentioned. I reckon it could be a CO2 issue in my tank, due to the fact i'm using a shoddy TMC AquaGro cannister. Soon as it runs out i'm rigging up my FE :)

Wow, looking good Ian, looks like its getting really well established now. :good:

cheers guys!

A couple of in tank shots.

And I shall dub thee the "Riccia King" And all shall bow to the "Riccia King" & acknowledge his greatness...

i love riccia.

I'd get that looked at if I were you! Seriously though, i've been through this thread a few times now and never commented. Your tank looks absolutely stunning mate, a real inspiration. :good:

thank you Jamepsss, that means a lot!

just a quick update as i haven't taken any photos of this tank for a month. I was in my LFS today and the JBL rep was in there and he had some awesome bits of mangrove wood with him. I bought a bit at a bargain price...I have placed it where the riccia was that wasn't getting much light. Anyways here goes...

Doesn't the Riccia do your head in when it gets that long and starts coming away from the mesh? I just re done my whole lot in the hope it will grow through before TOTM closes this month but not holding out much hope at the moment.

you need some long angled scissors Steve, they have been a god send for me. Cut the riccia and then just net it off. I cut mine every 2 weeks. :good:

Yeah saw some in MA but they're like 15 quid for bloody scissors lol. May get them tho if it means I ain't gotta re do my mesh every month.

Are they the JBL ones? They are the ones i have got, they are worth the money. You can get them cheaper on fleabay, but after p&p theres not much diffence in price.

Dunno but I may as well buy them rather than wait till the Royal Mail gets its #16##### in gear.

If there's anything i have bought for my planted tanks that have helped, is long scissors and long tweezers. They make life a lot easier.

It's absolutely beautiful, but too much work for me. I like my pelia in low-light. Nice and slow.

Yes, a goood pruning kit is a necessity. Cannot wait for school to be out so I can get started with my tank again. I've had no time.
