Hi Trod!
Ro from Lfs! my Ro filter was damaged so i got the replacement yesterday and will fit 2day
if it aint one thing its another lol
just as well my CUC didnt arrive !

Kip just a wee word on RO from the LFS.
I was getting a show of Cyno lately and naturally considered the RO membrane was on its way out.
I went ahead and bought RO from GT. I got home £2 for 25ltrs and £7ish for the barrel.
I dug out my trusty TDS meter and recalibrated it using proper mfg solutions. I find that my water was at 3ppm whilst GT's was sitting at 40ppm (not good)
So I've had to look in other directions for the Cyno show and is now being addressed.
So just a word of caution the LFS water is not Zero ppm.
I'm going to purchase a DI unit to get rid of that last bit of impurities in any case.

so this mean i have been topping up with water that firstly they stated was 1.025 sal .. lol joke
try 1.023

Lr claimed to be Cured and not lol
and now ive been topping up with nitrate loaded water..omg
what a waste of time!!

so i got to do more water changes with my own RO ..... i hope i install it properly and even when i do
how do i tell if my water is ok to go?

you need to buy a tds meter, which i have still to get - but i am assuming as the unit is only a few months old i will be ok for a while

Yeah Kip get a good TDS meter. Mines quite an expensive Hanna model but you can get inline TDS meters From RO Man.
Dont forget to Flush every couple of days.

I dont believe it!
2 weeks and no CUC! First it was the weather...then it was to come tuesday,,, then today!!
and still no sign..infact they still havent aknowledged my e-mails..
i know snails are slow!! but a joke is a joke!! rant rant rant!!

Should have chosen a more bonefidal seller. I would look to STM kip.
If yer quick Disco has placed an order and there's room in his box for someone elses livestock
maybe you contact him and place another CUC order with STM.
Just a thought.

i have nothing to report all levels are fine
and still no sign of my CUC i been calling em but all i get is an answer machine
so i will give it a go tomorrow morning.

if they sent em the poor things will be Dead by now!

They will have it insured id bet. If all your stats are fine and have been for a while you could add a fish, they wont be much for a CUC to do yet anyway

well you are right of course but im goin to sit it out a while and let the tank mature before the fish come!!
and when they do itll be very few!
im thinkin sixline wrasse and some little gobies and maybe a Banj cardinal but nothing
much more!

A wrasse would be nice and a goby, but Gobies don't add much swimming around the tank action and the Banj Cardinal are also a bit boring, I mean they just kinda float there, if you know what I mean

So a nice wrasse, a goby and mmmmmmm ......................you can do better than a banj cardinal

Scarlet hawkfish? Mine doesn't seem to want to eat the snails, mind you think he probably gets enough to eat already and he is just so cute

I have to slightly disagree with my big sis, I think the cardinalfish is a really nice fish, have you thought about a Pajama cardinalfish they are beautifull or a purple firefish
I was going to have a sixline wrasse but I'm sure I was told they can be a bit agressive.

So we got intouch with the CUC guy and we now must take up the issue with ebay ...!!
i mean what?? yep!! i must fight to get my money back for something i never recieved!
