Definately, just like to give you a bit to think about.

If you're anything like me you will definately decide which fish you want, go to your LFS and come out with something completely different

I have to slightly disagree with my big sis, I think the cardinalfish is a really nice fish, have you thought about a Pajama cardinalfish they are beautifull or a purple firefish :good:
I was going to have a sixline wrasse but I'm sure I was told they can be a bit agressive.

I added my sixline wrasse as a 2nd fish. I've never had any trouble from it.

since then i have added and algae blenny which didn't really settle in the tank and died.

A mandarin which also sadly never settled down and died.

Then came a coral beauty which is larger than the wrasse.

Then 3 yellow tail blue damsels.

I sometimes wonder if the sex of the wrasse dictates its temperament. I have been advised by my lfs to not stock any other wrasse or wrasse shaped fish though.

Hi folks!
well i have seen a lot of fish i like
i told the Banj cardinal at my LFS that Seffie
thought they were boring!! he just sat there and said nothing!

just done another water change this minute
just to keep up the routine..
Last night i found a pure white crab in a rock also on the same rock there seems to be a lot of worms!

Well folks heres an update still having trouble with pics though
i will make sure i will sort that issue out soon!

so update!

i added some life to my reef!!
just some CUC 5 x redlegs 5 x snails and i got 2 x cleaner shrimps (Bubba and Gump as my Daughter has christined them)
a local reefer gave me some green shrooms a pulsing xenia and 2 x green Rhodactis frags really cheap !!
so i also now have some colour in the tank (Lunar landscape was killing me) and here are my test results 1 week after CUC going in

PH 8.2
Amonia <0.25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2.5

My salinity has risen slightly !
so how do these look?
any comments are welcome

Kip

I suspect if hes using the Salifert kits that hes merely stating the lower boundary (and given the nitrate reading im guessing its zero...it would be higher if the cycle was still running). Easy way to tell is that if there is any sort of creamy component to the ammonia test its non-zero. Generally it should be white in a clear liquid. If it isnt zero Id say the relatively large addition of livestock has instigated a minicycle in the worse case, though from the sound of it I doubt it.

As Ben said top up with RO and that should balance the evaporation rate salinity increase. Make sure you drip it in though if your system isnt particularly large...that way it will mix and not cause a shock. I usually put mine in the intake of my HOB fuge so it goes through the rock and heater setup...also means I dont have to heat the water pre-use. Keeping the evaporation in check is one of the great difficulties of a nano which requires frequent attention...I deal with mine daily or every second day.

Now that youve got these additions and colour though I expect to see pics...no excuse now :p.

Hi and ty Xeb!

well my salifert Amonia is cloudy(white in colour not clear) so as i read on the salifert it would be almost the colour of the <0.25 reading...as there is a >0.25
i done a 20 % water change 3 days after livestock goin in as it
was scheduled to be done anyhow!

I will start to drip some RO later today i will drip into the Ref

As far a pics go i have a load taken but! since i got the first pic loaded up onto
this forum i havent been able to from that !! i have a heap of pics :(

i think my pics are too big !!

ty for your help and comments!!

Kip

Yeah, thats fine...an ammonia test will always be somewhat cloudy....as long as its white its all good.

For your pictures id suggest maximum size of 640x480 pixels, then upload to somewhere like photobucket with the link in between two tags:

Expect to see some soon :P.

Hi and ty again Xeb :good:

Yes i was thinking that about the Amonia test!!

Seeing that i added a CuC and 2 x shrimps!! should i run the skimmer or wait until
i add some fish? which will be a while as iam taking my time with this
and being careful i have already spotted some little glass type anems so im going
to handle these and let the tank mature ......i think my pics where too large at photobucket
so i maybe should resize in photo shop

Thanks folks
Kip

Thanks Big C !! hehehe one day i will get round
to using my eyes lol ...
ok i will go looky at photo bucket and sort this out!
:good:
