well i dont think that add for the tig is being very truthfull

1. if it was 3yrs old it would be alot bigger than 12inch look how fast thease babys have grown
2. tigs are rubbish hunter and have trouble digesting some foods not sure how it would cope with bone

I've never seen a fishes grow this fast.
Whats their max adult size?

Have a look at this rescue site and you'll get an idea. Unfortunately, not everyone that buys these beautiful fish has a tank the size of Cane's

sorry to say mate you need to do some resurch before you say they get to big

the tiger shovelnose you posted in the link can grow to 4ft+

this is a totally diffrent fish you would be lucky to give a tiger shovelnose away

this type of M.tigrinus only grow to 24-26inch max and one that size would cost you £400-500

lovely fish you guys, i have thought about getting 1 ma work has got 3 in at the moment at £250 at around 5" now i think but i have restrained my self from getting 1.
