The Indecisive Journal Of Trod's 5 Footer

It's not going well for Trod this week, as you know she ws supposed to be off to Spain today, but she didn't go!
This better be good!

Big C, I have a feeling where Trod or Seffie is concerned it will certainly be good.

I am wondering at missed flight or Spanish baggage or airport strike or something similar. Probably way out though.

Hope you have / had a really good time anyway though Trod.

Bless ya Trod last week wernt exactly your best week was it. wel hope your enjoying the holiday in cornwall as it is still a holiday regardless of destination and gives you time to get your feet up and enjoy the british weather LOL I dont know about you but it has absoluterly been peeing it down over here, wish the weather woul make up it's mind!

Anyways as far as the classified fish ads go I end up buying 10kgs of 'quality' LR several months ago from someone who was shutting their system down after several years of running it and was really excited when the order arrived... but was soooo peeved off upon opening the box to find I had received 2 giant conch shells each weighing over a kilo each along with about 6kgs of mucky oceon rock (not a single sight of purple colouration but slight green tinge to it where it looked like some sort of treatment had been used on it) and the rest was small pieces of LR base rubble.

i emailed the seller straight away with no reply and sent him another 5 or 6 emails asking for a refund... again with no response and then got in contact with paypal to try get a refund and was not having much success and paypal refused to give me his address or details etc. well anyways I noticed the seller was tring to sell some marine fish about 2weeks later so emailed him from the mrs's account wanting to buy fish but only on the condition she could collect. We agreed a price over email and then asked for his number to give him a call to arrange collection time and get address etc (the number he had on the ad was off). well anyways he emailed me the number and I got the mrs to give him a call and get his details along with arrange a pick up time etc which he was more than happy to do so... I had her make out she was local and it wouldnt be a problem for her although we situated aver a hour away!

Well then the mrs passed the phone on to me and I was more than happy to say 'remember me' and he was like hey???? I then reminded him about how he had ripped me off with the LR and was refuing to give me a refund (he soon remembered who I was when I quoted a few 'not so nice things' I had emailed him when I had go fed up with waiting for a refund. i then kindly explained to the gent that I now knew who he was and had his address and unless I was to get my money back fairly sharpish I would be coming round later that evening with a few friends and be collectin th money in person along with petrol money for having drove down and also some compensation for the inconvenience he had caused me!!!

Lets put it one way I shortly received my refund along with an email explaining how sorry he was and how his mrs had posted out the wrong package for LR as he had had 2 set aside and the one had received was for someone else blah blah blah!!!!! I was quite satisfied with the outcome and was rather chuffed with myself for having been able to get my money back that I thought I would enver see again!! :)

So long as you paid by paypal and didnt mark the payment as a gift. You put payment of good. Paypal will refund you, he will need to provide them with a postal reciept or they just take the money

Well he did have a payment receipt ben as he had sent 'goods' out to me and I had received them. The argument was over the fact I said he had sent me a load of junk and he was claiming I was leining and he had sent out quality item and the pictures I said i could provide were not the stuf he had sent. It was his word over mine and i didnt seem to be getting anywhere.

Anyways as far as trods case goes I am sorry for hijacking your thread but thought I would share my experience with you. If the person aint got a receipt for having posted the skimmer thnyou should be a ble to get a refund sorted soon and i hope that is the case. i also learnt from my epxerience and unless buying from a reputable seller either of ebay or another site, i will only purchase an item if i am able to go collect ikt and see what i am payin for before actually departing with any cash... :good:

That is an excellent idea 1entra, I have emailed him asking about something else he has for sale, haven't heard anything yet, so fingers crossed :good:

Ben, Paypal can only get the money back if the seller has money in their Paypal account and of course people like that take the money out straight away

So, back to 1entra's ploy me thinks ---- baseball bat and the boys!!

Just been on to the site get the advert info again and the advertisment has been removed - I wonder why! Luckily I emailed before it was removed

ps

just thought, surely taking money for goods and then not sending them is a criminal act - wonder if Trod should tell the Police?

Good luck with it seffie... fingers crossed he replies. make out you are local to him and for that reason you would prefer to pick up rather than pay for p&p as it would be cheaper and more convenient. if he does not reply now then just keep an eye out for future ads by him and respond to them and hopefully he will reply to one of them and hopefully your pateince will pay off... and then send the boys round to have a private chat with him (wink wink) :)

Paypal will threatten them with debt collectors if they need to. My mate cancelled an odd looking payment on his card later to find out it was something off ebay. Paypal handed the case over to some debt collectors so he quickly paid up. His was an honest mistake too.

Where does this person live?

Oh really, didn't know that :good: am still waiting for him to reply, so I don't know yet where he lives and unfortunatly they have removed his advert!

Hi Everyone, Back from my Hols and got a lot of catching up to do :)

Thank you for your replies guys, especially 1entra, it is so frustrating that paypal seem to take no responsiblity for getting money back  I have now put in a claim, but don't really hold out much hope, this guy has dissappeared off the face of the earth, his add said he was from nuneaton (sp!) but as seffie said he has removed it now. I shall be looking out to see if he places anymore adds and will take the course which 1entra did, It really makes my blood boil, so matey you better hope I don't catch up with you. OK rant over and moving swiftly on

Story regarding Hols, not exciting at all to be honest, unforunately, since my operation I have been suffering from panic attacks and unfortunately I had one and was unable to get on plane. So we just booked a last minute apartment in cornwall, (one of our favourite places) chucked the bikini's and shorts out of the suitcase and replaced with trousers and jumpers  and off we went, and had a lovely time :good:

Now back to tank!!!!!

LR coming wednesday :yahoo: :yahoo: and hunt for skimmer begins
