The Indecisive Journal Of Trod's 5 Footer

Reet, after spending several hours watching seffies tank yesterday, I have decided to transfer my nano stock to my 5ft. I have 2 clowns, yellow assessor, mandarin, Pajama cardinal, emerald crab, 2 clearer shrimps and various snails and hermits. I can't see any problems with my foxface, anthias and exquisite wrasse can anyone else?

Should be fine Trod...fox may be a bit pushy at start but this normally settles very quickly. If adding all at once just watch water params for a couple of weeks to see how the systems carries the new bio load

Ah ha, so when is operation marine going to take place?

:fish:

<seffie jumping up and down> maybe I will have my new camera by then

Not sure yet, got to see when my next day off is, make sure all water params are ok, but it will be within the next 2 weeks before you go back to school

Not a lot, since going back to work, I'm not getting a lot of time, I will combine the tanks, just need to sort a day out.
I have to be honest, my heart has taken a bit of a bashing after losing the 2 lionfish, and then the realisation that I probably won't be able to have them in this tank has knocked the stuffing out of me. I need to get the enthusiasm back, once I move the tanks I'm sure things will feel better

Oh yes and my pod culture has crashed so got to get some pods in tank before I transfer Mandarin

Not really a lot going on YF. Seffie and I are going to do the big move on wednesday afternoon, she will bring her new camera with her, so I should have some pictures then :good:

Seffie arrived at 16.30, full of enthusiasm, then I told her to read her text messages
Over night my protein skimmer had gone into over drive, and was pulling out tons of gunk  so I had decided to put move on hold, and had text seffie to tell her not to worry, but she didn't read it and duly arrived
We stood looking at tank for around 15 minutes scratching our heads, then decided to do nitrate and phosphate tests, both were fine, nitrate 0 phosphate around .02.
OK she says lets do it, so we did
Aqua scape first, we got most of the LR out of the nano and began

Ok aqua scape done, and very pleased with ourselves too, we start to move corals over, again all goes smoothly, we are now getting rather smug, whats that saying 'pride cometh before a fall' well, we stop for a drink and to admire our handy work, then fish, deep breath in and we begin, clowns go across, no trouble, shrimps, no trouble, pajama cardinal, no trouble, even the Mandarin, easy we are thinking, then seffie sees the emerald crab on a piece of LR, so, 'quick' I say, 'pick it up on LR and carry it across' seffie is half way across the room when I hear this blood curdling scream only to turn round and see, an emerald crab flying through the air and land splat on the floor  so I picked him up and plopped him unceremoniously into tank  where he scurried away PDQ.
Next comes the yellow assessor, nope she did not want to be caught and we whiled away quite some time chasing her around the nano  but eventually we got her and she to was unceremoniously plopped in too.

We stood back and admired our hard work, then fell down onto the settee in a state of exhaustion
Its looks great, most of the corals came out fairly quickly, the toadstool is sulking big time though, but the greatest thing of all, was the shrimps, they set up a cleaning station straight away and we sat and watched as they cleaned the Anthias and Foxface it was brilliant to watch

Now the all important photos (seffie forgot her camera so had to use mine)
