The Indecisive Journal Of Trod's 5 Footer

hi trod

when the coating from the die off is removed the ammonia WILL go down unless if that is still there it will take a long time for the ammonia to come down to that 0ppm so you can take the rock and scrub it will fresh salted ro water and once you have done that do another water change and aquascape you rocks nicely

and get well soon

regards scott

Day 15

Right again Scott, :good:
Mr Trod kindly did my 25% water change today and a bit more syphoning, and tested the ammonia, which has gone down :yahoo:
So I thought, I'd get him to test for nitrite and nitrate too. We have movement

Ammonia 1
Nitrite 2
Nitrate 25 (all salifert tests)

So when I'm mobile again, I'll take your advice Scott and give the rock a good clean, then try a bit of aquascaping

Day 16

Nothing happening today, as Mr Trod has been helping Mr Seffie get all the furniture and seffie's new tank back into her lounge :yahoo:

But I have seen life in my tank :kana: a little red feather duster  sorry no pictures though as everytime I shuffle towards it, it hides

Background came today, now I have to decide on black or blue, I'm edging towards black as it seems to hide all the equipement, which just happens to be black!!!

I say black =]

Thank you for letting mr Trod come out to play........................tank is now in situ  funny, it doesn't look sooo big now.

Signs of life......woo hoo :kana:

Blue or black - difficult one, blue looks lovely when really clean but black hides the equipment better, so I vote black unless you are going to spend ages scraping the back :good:

Big Sis x

Day 17

Black it is then :good:

25% water change done, (Mr Trod getting slightly fed up!!! )

Ammonia 0.5 :kana:
Nitrite 4 :)whistle: )
Nitrate 100 (cough cough  )

I'm happy with that :p

nice, looks like the cycle is going good then.

so have you got rid of most the die off then or is most still there and if your running the cannister filter give them a good clean as a lot of the die of will be stuck to the filter pads also and is the protine skimmer on now and only a couple of weeks left and youll have fish in there

Trod, here is some inspiration for you

Oh WOW thanks Ehudd, that is beautifull

No Scott. I've now taken external filter off and letting LR do its stuff :good: I've got most of the die off, off now, but I'm still taking your advice about taking it out and giving it a scrub :good: Protein skimmer is on 24/7 and doing a mighty fine job :good:

I've been rather busy with seffie's tank over the weekend  and was out all day sunday so I haven't done a lot with tank.

I've bought some TMC coral sand which I will add this week when I do clean up and aqauscaping. Not done any tests either  hoping to get some done this afternoon, will up date then :good:

No Pairing Bagu, sorry. I'm planning to get one Pterois Antennata and a Dendrochirus zebra but to be honest, if I see a baby Volitan I just might be tempted
I'm also looking at adding a foxface rabbit fish and may be, a big may be a box fish but I have got to do a lot more research on that before any decision to made :good:
