do normal bettas from the pet store get those nice ful tails & if they do wat do u do 2 make them look so good

Uh. Of course they do. And you don't do anything you wouldn't do if you got it from a breeder.

im confused cuz im a lil new @ this so i bought 1 from pet co & i saw all these pics people hav up & their bettas hav nice talls my bettas tail doesnt look like that so wa should i do i hav my betta in a 3 gallon tank its completly emptyis their any things i should put in my tank theirs jus rocks & wat should i feed it

You should read the stickies.. If you put rocks in make sure that they're not just from outside and if they are they should be boiled. As for plants you can put real ones in, or silk plants, other types will tear the his fins. As for food you should feed him betta food, such as Hikari betta pellets.

Some fish don't have as nice fins as anothers, keeping his water clean and putting up a mirror for 5, 10 minutes every other day in front of his tank so he can flare usually helps though. Do his fins look all raggy, or just clamped together?

i gues u could say clamed 2gether the look like he's sleepy or some thing so ill put sum black rocks from my other tanks in their. is it good 2 feed him blood worms?

what's his tail type? I would guess you bought a veiltail which doesn't have fins as big/round as say, halfmoons do. If you lookup the different tail types, you'll see what I mean.

If I've guessed right, then there's not much you can do. It's genetically programmed. However, he can still learn to flare his fins which makes them look bigger. Try putting a mirror next to his tank and let us know if that works.

Yep, blood worms are great for bettas. Frozen are better than freeze-dried.

Since you got your betta at Petco, I'm going to guess you have a veiltail, which resembles:

They have long, floppy tails that give them a look like they're "sleepy."

By "nice, full tails," I think what you have in mind is something like this:

Unfortunately you cannot make a veil tail look like that. Their flares are not as magnificent as other tail types. I think the fish you have in mind are half moons and deltas, which all have very nice, lucious tails, unlike a veil tail. If you want a betta that has a good flare like that, then you'll have to find and buy either a half moon or delta tail type.

yea i hav a veiltail & i looked it up & i like the delta & the half moon so i guees ill jus feed mine blood worms & thats all i can do ill ask my lfs owner if he can order me a delta or half moon

Just a suggestion black convict 0331why don't you stop talking slang and trying to make words shorter like for example instead of saying "cuz" you should say "because" so people can understand what your saying since we don't speak slang and try to shorten our words its alot easier to understand a person.
